It's funny how the moment he fired Mangini and Cowher was a distinct possibility, everyone (at least the majority) was happy he decided so quickly and had the balls to do it. The moment Cowher is out of the picture the firing was a bad idea and he has no plan.

Great point. The least Woody could do is have a conversation to measure Cowher's interest before firing Mangini. Just one of many numerous screw-ups by Woody. There is really one decent choice left right now: Spagnuolo. Marty Shottenheimer is OK choice also. Shanahan had even worse collapse than Mangini, so I see no point of bringing him in. Really, hiring Mangini back seems like a pretty good choice right now. Especially if we get spanked by Spagnuolo.
It's hard for you to make a case, considering it is not me who is saying he is highly rated, it's actual NFL QB ratings. Not to mention the way he outperformed Favre just a few days back. Wood screwed up HUGE. There is no shame in admitting it.
I counted on Favre, but he threw away our season in last 5 games. Bsides, Chad held up just fine behind Miami O Line.
