That would obviously be a good move by the Jets, interview the guy that should have gotten the Auburn job. (I'm being sarcastic because everybody knows it would be a token interview so why bring his name up after he got screwed by the Tigers) My question is what if we want to interview him and he says he doesn't want to interview? Would that fullfill the requirment or no, it wouldn't be the Jets fault.

Schefter says no to Cowher coaching.

    From PFT.

Too many rumors flying around on this. I didn't see this posted... so sorry if it is a repeat.

SCHEFTER: COWHER WON’T COACH IN 2009
Posted by Mike Florio on December 30, 2008, 4:03 p.m. EST
At a time when the New York media and Jets fans are going bonkos over the possibility of former Steelers coach Bill Cowher joining the team, Adam Schefter of NFL Network turns a fire hose on the frenzy.

“No matter what anyone says,” Schefter writes, “Bill Cowher is not going to be the New York Jets next head coach. If he talks to them – which is a possibility simple for the fact that he is smart enough never to big time anybody – it is to do nothing more than to inform them that he is not interested in the New York coaching job in 2009 nor any other head coaching job at this time and he respect the job the Jets do.”

We’ve got no reason to not believe Schefter, but any time we hear anyone say “no matter what anyone says,” we think of Chris Mortensen using the same or similar language in proclaiming that the Houston Texans would draft Reggie Bush.

I am perusing the CBS Sports *Yuck... the stench of Prisco...*and I still cannot confirm the visual on this article. Provide the link that says this is the case. All I see is Jets will start the interview process with Cowher and Spags, but nothing else.

The clock is ticking joejet! Do you want to be responsible for ruining of a banquet table full of the finest cuts of meat, decadent pastries, and a cornucopia of ripened fruits fit for a king?!

It will be chaos. When I'm finished with them, there will be a call to arms and a price on my head. Thanks to Joejet, Mrs. Kennedy's fundraising feast will be an unmitigated disaster.

It's an impediment to free contract negotiations with the candidate the team wants.
