32 means Miami is set for at least next 5 years - a long time. Perhaps more. As far as shoulder - check QB rating for this year for entire NFL, and tell me if you would like to have a #2 rated QB for next 5 years on the Jets.

Intresting post junc but you bring up some very good points and I agree with you. If he is healthy which I think he will I'm not going to say he owes us anything but I really don't know if I want him back. WE would have made the playoffs if Dan Orlovsky was our QB that last month. As it is Favre was awful and we missed the playoffs.

You are not the only one that wants him to come back to the jets next year junc. Pretty much every opponant we play next year wants him to come back as well.

Why would we want an over the hill, egomaniac, poor loser back on the team.

Wasn't that the Doug Jolley trade?

This might top it. It directly cost us a division title, a QB and a coach.

If the title of this thread is true then I hope Favre is a welcher.

W/o Faver and WIOTH Chad we are probably 11-5, 12-4. Favre did ruin the season but that doesn't mean he can't make up for it next year w/ a full offsedason.

He's still much younger and hasn't played nearly as much as a 32 year old favre played. If Chad can stay healthy(which is a big if) he can have 5+ more prodcutive seasons.

The Doug Jolley trade was a GREAT trade, it eventually resulted in us getting Kerry Rhodes.

If the Jets manage to land Cowher I'd love to have Favre back for one more season. Cowher WILL commit to the run game and Favre will not be required to throw 40+ times a game on a regular basis.

This is what Favre needs at this point in his career.

You can't say that because you have to look at the thinking and immediate return at the time of the trade; when they made the trade, they didn't know they'd get Rhodes -- they could have just as easily gotten Anthony Schlegel out of it.

OK so at Chad's rate of down time from injuries, by this logic, he could be a leap year QB right into his social security years.

    Kerry Rhodes?

Jets fans saying Favre owes them another year are like a guy whose ex-girlfriend gave him the clap saying she should sleep with him some more to make up for it.

Take Rhodes out of the situation and it was still a good trade. We targeted Justin Miller & Nugent in the 1st 2 rds and STILL got both and extra draft picks plus a vet TE. It wasn't a bad trade any way you slice it. You want to say we didn't make the right picks on draft day that's a different argument.

If he promises to play smart and not risky unless it's necessary, then I hope he comes back. He's a future first ballot Hall of Famer and he's still got a great arm when healthy and how many times have we been able to say that? I've always been a huge fan of his and watched the Packers during the time there because of him and him only, and I don't want him to leave with a sour note. He will have the motivation to play better and take us to the promise land.

One more year of "experience" in the system will do nothing to improve this old man's skills. They are gone. Forever. If anything, he will be worse next year. Now that the magic is gone physically, Favre is stuck with his shit brains and nothing else. I don't understand why any Jets fan wouldn't want him and his ego gone.
