well guys, now we have to wait until playoffs are over to interview coordinators, i would love to see rex ryan, or a coach from the steelers, no lebeau (too old) Spags would be good, but only if he kept the 3-4 in place, which he probly wont
was not mangold one of his picks? what about David Harris, picking up Faneca, trading for Thomas jones? it's not just about drafts........wait until Mrs. Cowher puts her foot down, he will be taking a lot of money be close to their daughters...and we will have our coach
Well I do not blame MT for BF because Woody wanted him so end of story there since Woody thought he would assist in selling PSLs
Overnight I decided Cowher not the right guy anyway. We need more than a hired gun. Let's go with one of the rooks like Spags and try to build a winning franchise. Let BF go his own way.
Agreed If you look around the league at GM's records, to say MT has a terrible record is just foolish. Throwing Favre in his face..or Gholston for that matter....the person to be blamed for Gholstons woes is Mangini. Trying to convert every lineman that ever played the game to linebacker is the fault of Mangini. As a gm....you see a weakness (pass rush) and you pick the best possible person you THINK can help the team. Because your head coach has a hard on trying convert them all to linebacker is not the fault of the GM.
Mangold and revis are solid ... keller...not yet - he drops balls and once defenses paid attention to him he couldn't get open
i don't see a big name coming in -- maybe schotty but the guy can't win come post season i wouldn't be surprised to see someone on the staff move up to HC
I agree with keeping MT, this was my rebuttal to a post that originally knocked my post for keeping MT
Not really true of Keller. Yes he dropped a couple passes..but that started as soon as teams started putting nickles and safetys on him. He was unable to beat them Not his fault..its the fault of the qb and coaching staff not to make teams pay for that...period. EDIT: AND OUR LEAD FOOT RECEIVERS
Does anyone remember the experiment where Herm tried to turn Ellis into a NT? How well did that go? What Mangini did with Gholston this year was pretty much the same thing. Mangini wanted Gholston to be a read and react coverage linebacker, when Gholston was drafted to be a pass rusher. They should've had Gholston rushing the passer from the day he walked in the door, and had him focus on that and that alone. Instead they filled him with garbage and didn't give him an opportunity to be good at anything. Poor coaching job.
