That means Tannenbaum told him I guess.
(In an interview Mangini said he liked him -- and he improved -- last summer (07) for Ratliff, "it took an act of congress to get a play into the huddle."

If he is, you'd better hope the new HC gives the kid a shot.

My Scouting report on Brett Ratliff.

Positives: 99 overall rating in Madden (I had to fix this because my copy came glitched for some reason). Rocket arm. Pinpoint accuracy. Great field vision. Able to check down 5 receivers within 3 seconds. Great footwork. Good mobility and speed to take off when the pocket collapses. Excellent pocket presence. Puts a good mix of touch and zip on his passes; very hard to intercept but very easy to catch. Great team leader who commands respect in the huddle. Has developed great chemistry with up and coming star David Clowney. Very effective at finding seams in the defense. Able to read the defense and audible at the line. Very fast release.

    Cons: Isn't starting yet.

Notes: I've confirmed from three separate sources who've spoken on condition of anonymity that Brett Ratliff is a distant relation of Chuck Norris. Also have heard unconfirmed rumors that he trains in the Himalayas with Chuck Norris during the offseason.

Good point...It's not like our starting QB this season didn't throw 23 picks! (I actually lost count towards the end)

Even though he only played preseason, his potential is obvious from those games. Compare Clemens results in those same games. Compare Chads too. Ratliff outpoised and outled both of them.

He looks like Big Ben to me--I would be happy to have him as the starter opening day.

Anyone have more info on Brett Ratcliff?

He looked good in preseason (i know its hard to judge in preseason) but he did look really good. Anyone know how he did in college.I actually think he is our future, Clemens just doesn't seem to cut it imo. Also i know Favre did horrible this season but hopefully having a Veteran Future Hall of Fame quarterback on our team for one year will help our young quarterbacks. I was so pissed yesterday after that loss but im now a little more calm and hoping for a good future. Bill Cowher better come to the :jets:

From what I saw, he looked like a viable QB.
Sets up quick...good mechanics & footwork, good mobility.
    And a strong arm.

Can't say much as to his reads or decision making.
    I liked what I saw.

I've thought the same thing all season......I know it was preseason, but him and Clowney were dynamite together.....I just don't think Kellen is the guy.......But I have a great feeling about Ratliff....Think he's the Brett of the future for this team.

I agree but, Pre season means nothing much really.

What I was trying to say is we do not know much about him because he have old dirty bastards like Favre behind center, and they want to bring him back.

At this rate we may never know what we have in the kid, I guess that went over your head though.
