Parcells turned our franchise around. He didn't finish the job but the Jets have been a solid team since he has arrived where prior to his arrival we were a joke.
69 Hahahahaha. Love Billy Madison. I agree with steelcurtain, we need a long term solution not a coach who will be here for 1-3 years.
Mangini would have if he could have pulled off 2 more wins against shitty teams. Hopefully Cowher, if he comes here, will stay for 5+ years and bring us 5+ superbowls.
Parcells would fill the seats, and that is the most important thing to Woody right now. Parcells could revive Favre for one great year like he did for Vinny and now Chad.
We already tired with Parcells and he kicked us to the curb. I like him but we would be a fool to let him to that to us again.
If he could make a serious commitment to staying a minimum 2-3 years, and grooming a replacement that wont bail on us and spend the next decade kicking our asses, I'd say all aboard. If nothing else, it gives the possibility of a hilariously awkward interview with Mangini for the DC job. And personally, Id imagine that if Parcells agreed to come back, it would have to be with no Favre. I don't see this guy, at his age and with his reputation, catering to Favre's diva bullshit.
i would love parcells as coach...and if he retires again...he can become the GM or VP whatever he will want to stay in the game
Why the hell not? The talent is on this team...Just the coaching got exposed the last several weeks. Parcells may only be here 2 seasons, if that...But when he "sees" a team that's this "close"...I could easily see him pull a Pat Riley, take over, put his skills to the max, and hopefully capture a Superbowl... Doubtful though.
I don't know why he would leave his current situation, but if Parcells does go to another team I cannot think that he would come to the Jets. IMHO he would choose the Lions. If he turned that team around then he would have the ultimate unchallenged title of miracle worker (Pats, Jets, Cowboys, Dolphins, Lions). He would get total control in Detroit (probably lots of cash) and the amount of praise he would get if he were successful in Detroit would be just too much up.
My brain says no but my heart says "yesss" (sung to the tune of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE62JLB9ezI at 0:25 if you're old enough to remember these)
Yummy, leftover and recycled Tuna. Seems like a natural progression after signing a washed up Catfisherman.
