what the hell are you guys talking about??? It was 10-0 at the half...Blake Spence blocked the punt, and put us up 10 at the half.

all teams have epic collapses. i still don't see why jets fans love to complain the most about them.

this year alone, the cowboys' collapse was worse than the jets'

they were supposed to be far and away the best team in the NFC. they still had plenty of chances at the end of the year to secure a playoff spot, up until the last game which they failed again to win.

the Jets last game didn't even matter towards playoffs. they were never considered the best team in their conference. and they were only considered a top 5 team for a VERY short time.

so please explain how this collapse was worse than the cowboys

Here are two regular season disasters:

    1) Losing to the winless "Aints" in Week 15 of the 1980 season. I was at that horrible game on that cold windy day at Shea and recall seeing more than a few Jet fans with bags over their heads.

    2) Losing to the New England Patriots at Shea in 1978 when Leahy missed a last second FG.

LOL, it wouldn't take long to come up with a top 30 list.

i swear Namath made a pact with the Devil.

Devil - "Joe, I will let you win the Superbowl if you give me your soul for the rest of eternity?"

    Joe - "Nah."

Devil - "Ok, how about this. A Superbowl for letting all Jets fans live in misery for the rest of eternity?"

Yeah, that's correct. The player was Bryant Westbrook. Possibly the worst call that ever went against the Jets. The Chris Baker play at the end of the Cleveland game in 2006 was also awful, but the Westbrook play came in a bigger game.

Good (bad) choice, Wahoo, but some of that is incorrect.

    The final score was 13-6.

The Jets did indeed have a 1st-and-goal at the 1, but Boozer did not get any carries, let alone four.

Bill Mathis carried the ball on 1st down.
Matt Snell was stopped on 2nd down.
Joe Namath threw incomplete to Snell on 3rd down.
Jim Turner kicked a FG on 4th down. It tied the score in the 4th quarter.

Was there another 1st-and-goal at the 1 sequence later in the game? I don't think there was, but I could be mistaken.

Wow are there any good memories??? 86 Hurt the most... then this year.. The experts picked the Jets to finish 7-9(I think...) So 9-7 isn't that bad.. Where is Wesley Walker? I want to smack him in the face after he gave that interview to Star Ledger....

The Jets would probably be in the lead, but the Dolphins collapsed a number of times during the Marino era.
I didn't save my research (I did the work in 2000) so I can't give exact numbers, but I am quite sure the Dolphins winning percentage decreased as the season went along during the Marino era. September was their best month, October their 2nd best month, and December was their worst month.

Nope! Once again most of you posters on this board do not understand what the word "collapse" means.

The 'fins made the playoffs in most of those years you refer to. Yes, the Dolpins are, in fact, almost as pathetic as the New York Jets in terms of when they last won the Super Bowl. But... Through those years, the 'fins won the division title most of the time. Yes, they lost in the plaoffs, but that is NOT what the word "collapse" means.

Only the New York Jets have had victory within their grasp with a few games left in the season, over and over, and then found a way to throw it all away. If you don't understand this then you aren't a true Jets fan...
