Well, at least they're giving those guys a shot, though I doubt either of 'em will actually want to coach here.
Would it be that difficult to run a 4-3 here? Don't I remember that, back in the sack exchange days, we used to switch of 4-3 to 3-4 during games?!
You'd rather have a head coach that crashed an burned than an extremely successful offensive or defensive coordinator?
Then you want a retread... There's never an easy answer for who should be the next coach. And that includes Cowher.
A 4-3 would not be hard at all to go to. The only problem would be having good players on the bench. It would look like this: DE: Gholston DT: Ellis DT: Jenkins DE: BT, Coleman, Devito OLB: Draft? Cushing? ILB: Harris OLB: Barton
How can you say that? It's not like a new coach is going to the Lions or Browns. We were 9-7. This is still a good team that doesn't need to built from the ground up. What I would like to see happen is for Parcells to take his 9 million and run right back to the Jets and let him buy the fricken groceries.
Spags has experience, he doesn't have HCing experience but he had great success as a DC and has proven to be able to devise a scheme to stop the Pats.
Who said that? I'm not asking for Romeo Crennel or Rod Marinelli, but Cowher or Gruden would be nice.
AND Cowher turned down the Browns, and who in their right mind would go to Detroit? Who does that leave? Yuh....the Jets ay!
I say that because I'm not entirely convinced Cowher wants to come out of retirement just yet or that Spags wants to deal with converting a 3-4 D back to 4-3 and an "untouchable" QB who might be the "real" person running the team instead of him.
Yeah, Cowher will jump right at the chance to leave his cushy broadcast job to step into the Woody-Tannenbaum-Favre-PSL-Shitstorm.
