In 2006 I found myself saying "THESE GUYS ARE GREAT!!!" In 2008 I found myself screaming "WHAT THE F_ ARE THESE IDIOTS DOING?!?!":shit:
I don't know about that. I loved when they fired Hackett but looking back on it, it was indicative of the throw-everybody-under-the-bus mentality of the Herm/Bradway era. While firing Mangini could very well turn out to be the same kind of thing, I'm glad the guy on top is being held accountable for once.
No, I mean I want a coach who coaches aggressively, not so much someone that will scream and yell at a player.
Herm sucked and had to go. See what hes doing to the Cheifs, that was a good football team when he took them over. This is the best thing that could happen! Mangini was CLUELESS and Tanny knew it! GREAT, GREAT move!
I feel a sense of hope that ownership is not satisfied by mediocrity. But I also feel a sense of fear that we may end up replacing one bad HC with another one. Sorry guys, we're not getting Cowher. I would love to be proven wrong but I can't see it happening. Aside from Cowher, I cannot think of any surefire coaching saviors. The last thing I want to see is a Pete Carroll to Rich Kotite scenario.
Maybe Mike Tice? Mike Sherman? Romeo? I'm sure all of you idiots would be happy with that upgrade. Be careful what you wish for. Remember half the nfl teams have a horrible coaches and a big part of that is the quaterback play.
Why wouldn't Cowher come here? What legitimate reason? I'm just curious as to why so many people accept the supposed fact that he is out of the question?
Fellow Jet fans it is time for a new era. I expect one of the following to be our head coach next season: 1.Bill Cower 2.Steve Spagnoula 3.Rex Ryan 1 of these three men will be our HC next season
it was the right the right thing to do,,,,,shitty to have to go through this, but it waqs needed I bet bill is having a laugh about this.
My gut is telling me he wont come here, doesnt want NY, and doesnt want to be the Jets HC. He has settled in the Carolinas and doesnt want to go back to the rust belt/NE armpit of the country. As for parcells: You can't go home again. I think the next coach will be someone else other than these two.
I can't think of any reasons not to come, if he really wants to get back into coaching. The only way he won't come is if he is not given the type of control he wants. We need knowledge, fire , discipline, and experience all rolled into one. That narrows the field in a hurry when you think about it.
Said in another thread but Mangini got fired because the players hated playing for him and quit on him down the stretch. Put that in combination with horrible decisions in the Seattle game and you get axed.
Well, your gut is projecting. Not saying those reasons are wrong, but those reasons are far from conclusive evidence.
