Melky and Kennedy for Dejesus is probably reasonable.

I don't know? Why would Seattle trade Putz to the Mets for nobody? It would be a 1 year thing, everyone knows Matsui is gone after next season anyway, the trade would have to be for a player in a similar circumstance

You underestimate his value for overseas dollars.

Last, I don't appreciate your last coment.

Mastui was apprently bigger than all of them (Japanese players in MLB) abroad, that is...more advertising means more dollars.

take the d*ck out of your ass.your on a jets message board.sarcasm is a part of life here.i just dont see your comparision. putz was signed for 2 years and next is for 9million. they got back cheap inexpensive parts.plus putz was coming off surgery.
seattle got center fielder Franklin Gutierrez from the Indians who is fast and has a strong arm.Besides Gutierrez, the Mariners received from the Mets: right-handed pitchers Aaron Heilman and Maikel Cleto, left-handed-hitting first baseman Mike Carp, left-handed pitcher Jason Vargas and outfielders Endy Chavez and Ezequiel Carrera.

    all inexpensive players.

matsui could leave next year and they would be shit out of luck.

again the deal makes no sense.

    A) Your comment didn't upset me, what upset me is you polluting this thread with your defeatest piss poor Met fan attitude.

    B) They wouldn't be "shit out of luck" if they intend on carrying the extra 5 million dollar difference (which could easily be made up in advertising) between Bedard and Matsui for one season with the intent on dumping it next year.

    C) Don't cite Heilman and imply him as an integral part of that, all of you wanted him gone. Chavez is the only decent player in that mix.

piss poor met tude? i looked at it from a baseball and business stand point. still looks one sided.sorry if you dont agree with my opinion.heilman was absolutely an integral part of the trade. he could be a starter, set up man or closer. which ever they decide.and they where probably looking at it as he may need just a fresh start.

I never said they want to take it away. Just that they can. So when you say that Congress can't do anything to MLB because they have an anti-trust exemption, it isn't true because they could just casually take it away and then do whatever they wanted.

Here we go again. WINS ARE VIRTUALLY MEANINGLESS IN MEASURING A PITCHER.

Assuming Burnett stays healthy, which is a question, his 162 game averages are almost identical to Pettitte's. The main difference is Burnett gets a lot more Ks and isn't as durable. He's a good bet to produce about what Pettitte would. Remember, Burnett had an ERA of 4.07 last year, hardly top of the rotation caliber. He's good and can be dominating, but he doesn't always live up to his stuff.

Don't bold me mother F*cker. You didn't specify WTF you meant when you said production. That's why I said "IF you mean 204 + innings". Furthermore, Pettitte in the latter part of the season was not giving quality starts, so in terms of that I hope Burnett doesn't break down.

I was only referring to those two idiots who said they wanted to force a salary cap. As if they could do that without first revolink the exemption. I never read the article but was only commenting on what was posted here. If they really said that then they don't know their own law and that is pathetic.

I do think Pettitte waited too long and because of that he is now history for the team. I suspect the Yankees may make an announcement in the next couple of days that they have pulled the offer. I agree that if anything that happens now it will be through trades.

who gives a shit about japanese money...seattle has plenty and what they dont need is to trade a young pitcher with upside for a washed up veteran because he's also japanese. Thats a team thats trying to get younger, rebuild, if there going to trade him to the yankees, they would probably have to give a a young pitcher or two.
