OK, I went over at finheaven and they had a thread just like this one. Almost all of them are saying Fins will win. Thats just way too much of homerism. I wanted to see how people think over here on our board. Lets be honest and not be homers here...I'll go first. 34-23 Jets Favre 265 yards, 2 TDs 2 Picks Jones 128 yards 2 TDs Coles 1 catch for -2 yards (just to get him involved) Cotchery 9 for 112, 1td Keller 7 for 81 Clowney 2 for 79, 1td (4 deep bombs, 2 complete and 2 picks, 1 TD) Pennington 306 yards 1 TD, 2 ints (just can't comeback against a team with above .500) Ricky 12 carries 42 yards Ronnie 7 carries 52 yards 1 TD (longest 43 yds for TD) Ginn 6 for 62 Bess 5 for 57 Fasano 9 for 102 Ricky Ronnie 8 for 56
Here's how i truly believe the day will play out: After hearing the news of a Bills upset over the Patriots, the atmosphere at the Meadowlands is electric, the Jets control their own destiny yet again, and the players and CS are well aware. And then the game starts.... Jets take the opening kick off, and drive down the field, but are stopped at the dolphins 32 yardline bringing up a 4th and 1. instead of a. going for it, or b. kicking a field goal, eric mangini decides to pooch-punt it away. Reggie Hodges, our magnificent punter who's goal here is to pin the Phins within the 10, does the inevitable and kicks the ball out of the endzone...touchback Phins. Mangini's reasoning for the punt "Well...i thought the game was going to be close throughout and i thought it would be a battle for field position throughout, i have a lot of faith in our defense and their aggressive three man blitz - 8 man zone schemes. It was too early to take a big fourth down and 1 yard risk. If we would have executed the game plan, and practiced harder throughout the week, we would not have been in a 4th down situation". following this Jets possession, and remaining throughout the entire game...Chad Pennington picks apart the Jets defense thanks in big part to the fact that he has all the time in the world to throw the ball. This along with Ronnie Brown and the wildcat seem to be too much for the Jets and their super-quick linebackers such as Eric Barton, Calvin Pace, David Bowens, Vernon Gholston, etc. Botton line. Phins 17 Jets 6 Favre 19-35 221 yards, 0TD 2INT Pennington 17-21 265yards, 2TD, 0INT oh and some random SOJ stats.... 0 sacks 2 times Leon Washington will touch the ball BUT....thomas Jones will have a monster statistical game rushing for 165 yards on 15 carries...leaving us all to ponder why the fuck he isnt getting the ball more. and the Mangina era is over.
That's 6 TD's for 34 points. Not including PAT's. If this happens. I can honestly blame the refs for this one.
How is it six TD??? 2 TD passes for Favre, one to Cotchery and one to Clowney...Then two rushing TDs for jones....I counted 4 TDs....2 FGs for Feely.
Wow...I counted them all seperatly. I guess I should stay away from the Christmas Trees
Are you believing this or just re-posting last weeks stats from the Seahag game? I gonna take it as it comes. There are just too many scenarios. I just want the Jets to win and let everything take care of itself.
After the Pats beat the Bills by two touchdowns at 1pm, I think your coach will fold the tent and roll over on the Pats (Yes I am a Pats fan, posting here in peace). God I hope I am wrong. I hope Mangini plays this one straight up and the Jets beat Miami, trying to get in with a wild card. For one week, I am a Jets fan! So should the Pats beat the Bills and the Jets beat the Dolphins, I will carry a Jets sig for the next week on my home board. Go Jets!
Most of these predictions are from Undrafted FA and Starters...Meaning newbies...most likely by the Dolphin Trolls...
It's not a question of wheter or not the Jets win......will they back into the playoffs? If New England romps, should be intersting to see how the team reacts. They'll be watching the scoreboard, that's form sure.
Jets 24 Phins 17 I think the running game goes wild with some big gains. That was a missing element in the Seattle game (well along with the QB and WRs not showing up to play), I think the RB's biggest gain was 6 yards. And I really have a strange feeling about the Bills. Bad weather on the horizon in Western NY. Bad weather is the great equalizer and Lynch is apprerently playing.
