Whats up guys... Fin fan here in peace. I am fired up for this game... but I am actually a little disappointed you lost to Seattle. I wanted both of us tied going into this showdown... it would have been amazing.

Either way, theres still a lot of great things to love about this game.

However, 1 thing I wanted to talk about was our young LTs. Brick struggled in his first couple of years, but seems to be really coming around for you guys this year. For the Fins... Jake Long has been fantastic this year IMO. Both have only allowed 2.5 sacks this season.

So I was curious... who would you guys rather have today and for the foreseeable future? DBrick or Jake? Shockingly, I'm going to take Jake.

    What about you guys?

    Both.

One on the left, one on the right.

    lol Hemi...

    Taking the easy road?

And while I think Jake would be a phenomenal RT... I think it would be a waste of Jake since LT is much more of a valuable and critical position...

This poll's going to be really lopsided, but it shouldn't be. D'Brick is very much overrated by Jet fans- but I'm not going to go into that argument- as I've had it several times over the last week or two.

I voted for Long though. Brick is progressing nicely, but he needs to get stronger at the point of attack run blocking, and he needs to better hold his ground in pass protection.

I would like to merge the two into a super LT. D'Brick is better at pass blocking but Long is better at run blocking.

Well, D-Brick has been in the league a few years. Jake has been much better at pass blocking than D-Brick was in his first year.

Also, Jake has been a fantastic pass blocker this season, only allowing 2.5 sacks on the year... and one of them was against you Week 1 in which the sack had nothing to do with Jake... so he really has allowed 1.5 sacks on the year.

What about DBrick makes you think he is better prospect as a pass blocker thank Jake?

Personally, w/ Jakes dominance in run blocking and pass blocking this year... I'm leaning towards thinking he is that "super LT"...

I'm talking about right now. I'm not getting into projecting what each of them will become. I wouldn't know where to begin doing that to be honest. At this point I believe D'Brick is the better pass blocker of the two and Long is the better run blocker.

Jake spent a decent amount of time on the right side of an unbalanced line this year as a run blocker.

Whats your definition of a "decent amount of time"? There have been a significant amount of games in which we havent even used the unbalanced line... and in games we have used it... its only been a few plays in that game.

Probably 98% of his snaps have been on the left side...

And the thread was geared toward which LT you would want for you team... meaning for this year and the foreseeable future. If I didnt clarify, I apologize.

Other than the fact that D'Brick can't play in the snow, I'd say he's been solid.

So true. D'Brick is a finesse player who will never dominate anyone physically. This is his third year and even with his progress he will always be an average run blocker.

D-Brick has double the votes Jake has... yet no one has really posted why they would want D-Brick over Jake?

Dude. You're on a Jets forum, did you really expect anything different? C'mon.

I expected D-Brick to be winning... it IS a Jets forum...

But I expected people to at least post their reasoning... or participate in the debate. Thats all.

If you think D-Brick is better or will be the better LT when all is said and done... fine. Just post why, thats all.

I like to talk football... an no one is talking, lol...

Jake Long might still be a franchise left tackle at this point. It's not clear if he's that good but he might be. D'Brick is an above average left tackle who will never be as good as the Pace, Elliot, Jones standards at the position.

I like D'Brick a lot but I'd really like to have a wall at left tackle for a decade and he's not going to be that.
