I am sitting in the mall earlier (waiting for a girl who was in Victoria's Secret). I am in my heavy Jets jacket since it is freezing. This guy comes over with a Pennington Dolphins jersey on. I immediately start thinking, please do not talk or insult me. Sure enough he sits down next to me. Tough loss for ya yesterday he says. I say yes. Then he says thanks for Pennington, I love him. Sunday should be a sweet game. I say, yes hopefully the Jets will bounce back. He says "Not after Chad is done with them, haha." Then gets up and walks away before I can respond. I scream "Happy Holidays". Anyway, the point is I realized something while he was ruining my day. haha. There is NO WAY Chad has the kind of season he is having this year as a Jet this season. It was his time to go. The fans had enough of him and already moved on. He heard cheers after he got injured. That is terrible. I don't think New York was the place for Chad in 2008. If he would throw one duck or INT people would scream for Clemens or Ratliff. It was a bad situation overall. I am happy for him, but not the cocky Dolphins fans who rub him in my face right now. So when people are using the Should have kept Chad, or The Jets made a big mistake. I think there is a good chance they did not. Anyone agree with me?
Agree with all except letting the Dolphin fan get to you. I would have told that gloating POS to roll that Chad shirt up and have Ricky Williams smoke it!!!
If Chad comes home Week 2 and loses to Matt Cassel in his 1st career start, their would of been beer bottles thrown at #10 and the overwhelming boos would of killed the team. Favre and co. had the excuse for not being used to the playbook and eachother... So yeah whatever...It doesn't make me feel any better that the Jets made the RIGHT move with Pennington, but its true. And on the Dolfag fan...Hasn't it been like 19 of the last 24 the Jets have won against them?(Help on the correct stat)
I agree- this fanbase treated Chad like dog crap. I went to the last two training camps and it was disgusting hearing the comments thrown Chad's way from Jets fans. I was embarrassed to be there. I wanted him to stay and I'd love to be watching him don the #10 this weekend in a must-win game, but I've accepted that going to Miami was the best move for him. Parcells will keep him there for as long as he's productive, and I see him being a good NFL QB for quite a few more years. He's not a guy who will be hurt by the expected physical decline as a guy like Favre. In many ways, I think Chad deserved more than the Jets fanbase too. Cheering when he got injured was inexcusable. Yet the guy still went out and bought a home in Jersey before the preseason- he wanted to finish up his career in New York too. He was the consummate professional and a true Jet. It's tough to think positively of the Dolphins at all, but I've been pulling for Chad to do well all season.
the second he took in the breath to say what he was going to say, I'd snap and scare the shit out of him so that he ran away like Fins fans do. And then at the end of my rant i'd scream "I own you" Then smile.
I dont think getting rid of chad wa a good move for the Jets. At the time he would have settled for being a backup with us. But I think it was a good move for Chad himself. He is in a place where they worship him. If he would have stayed here we woulda drug him through the ringer.
The dickless Chad haters never got Chad down before, why would they do it now? The real problem is the CS blaming Penny for their own shortcomings. Mangini thought he was a great coach being weighed down by Penny, it was really the other way around. If the CS had supported Chad that would have been enough, the players loved the crap out of him, just like they do in MIA and just like they did at Marshall. Another thing, after the season was over the Jets admitted that after the first game Penny was playing with a serious ankle injury they kept secret to avoid helping out other teams with crucial injury info, you know, the usual Mangini BS. Penny would have taken a lot less abuse last year if Jet fans knew he was playing on a bad ankle. A LOT LESS. Instead of berating him for a weak arm fans would have been admiring him for playing hurt. Thank you Manboobs, thank you for one more bad thing you did to the Jets, turning the fans against the classiest pro athlete of his era.
Pennington is getting injured next season so don't worry! I'm 90% sure that he will either have a shitty year or get hurt next season. The years don't lie...just look at his production every year. It will decline the next season then rebound the season after that.
I tend to disagree with the OP. I think Chad could have done well here this season. The biggest problem last year was the OL. No QB under center had any time to throw and the running game had zero push. Clark was a turnstile at LG that destroyed our offense. But this season the Jets have a vastly improved OL. Our top draft picks & FA on the OL are all playing well and TJ is leading the AFC in rushing. A guy like Chad would have thrived in that environment. His high percentage passing game is predicated on getting some protection from his line and that's exactly what he would have gotten. Add a strong rushing game and I'm sure Chad would have been just as successful in NY as he was with the Dolphins this season. In essence Chad had the same thing in Miami which lead to his great season (good OL & strong rushing support).
andddd that wouldve been HILARIOUS because the ricky/weed stuff is completley new, fresh and 100% original..... yeah and maybe the finfan woulda said "hey you only won one superbowl hahahaha" played out bro....played out...you guys are better than this..
i just realized that most of you are PUSSIES. we all want our team to wake up,well i think our fans need to wake up.the next person you see smiling walking towards you, make sure you put on your craziest look.the kind that says "if you open your mouth i will fucking kill you".we as a fan base need to start some violence.i have turned into the biggest DICK these past weeks that no one dares talk about the Jets in my presence unless they are other Jets fans.you need to stand tall b/c our team seems to be letting us down as usual.
I completely disagree. The fans that wanted him gone are the 'what you have you done lately" crowd. They base his career playing hurt in 2007 behind the worst OL I have ever seen. NOBODY could have succeeded behind that OL, we made great moves all offseason. We had a upgraded OL which helped the ground game and the passing game. Chad would have thrived here, he has always been really good when healthy. I understand the fans frustrations w/ his durability and that was probably reason #1 we got rid of him BUT it made no sense to trade for Favre w/ a month to go until the season started. had we gotten him 2 months earlier I would have felt a little different. Chad would have thrived in this O w/ the talent we have on O and we'd be at least 2 games better right now fighting for a seed instead of fighting for our playoff lives needing help to get in.
The past? Why would a Jets fan want to bring up the past? When did we as fans start bragging about what happened last year, or the year before?
I personally don't wear jerseys at all, but I'd wager that there's more men wearing Teal and Orange getting hot South Florida ass this weekend then Jets jersey wearers all season. I spent about 6 months in NY and Jersey and I don't think I've ever seen so many ugly people concentrated into one area in my life, and I've also been to South Korea.
I'm with you. And you wanna know why Chad is playing well? Mangina and Schitty are not in Miami ruining his career.
I’m looking forward to seeing the Chad I know and love this weekend – the big game choker out there looking like a total fool. They better plan on kicking allot of field goals or having allot of success with that college wildcat offense if they want to win this game. Chad Blows.
Are you really talking after putting up 3 points against a horrible defense? 2 field goals should do it.
