Just look at the winning percentages.... Mangini will be at .454 if he wins against the Fins next sunday.

    Embarrassing.

If the Jets win on Sunday, Mangini's regular season record will improve to .500 (24 wins, 24 losses).

good thing you pointed that out.... they haven't updated the stats then.

Then he'd be the 3rd coach with a .500 record.

I look at the model that the Falcons used this year as a possible blueprint for the Jets to emulate.

We already have a great GM (Tannenbaum has learned from the best in Bill Parcells...and Dmitroff is no slouch either)...we just need a new coach with a fresh outlook and a fiery persona....and we need to keep on drafting well. The Falcons got excellent value for DeAngelo Hall..plus the picks they already had....they built a nice foundation for years to come.

I don't think we're far off....but the coaching staff we have right now isn't the answer. I like what Atlanta did in their offseason...and it's paid dividends for them....we should be able to follow suit in my opinion.

Arthur Blank loves his team too.... Woody Johnson could give a shit.

The Jets need to stop taking the wannabes from coaching trees and take the talented candidates.

until Woody wakes up and smells the toast...this team is fucked. I guess it could be worse though...the team could be owned by Al Davis *shudder*.

Raiders fans have an excuse for finding a different team.

Woody might be trying now, I don't know.

I will say that it will take a coach who gets the most out of the players, does not fuck with the defensive scheme and finds a competent QB that can make this team a contender quick.

This team has 7 pro bowlers, 5 of which aren't Faneca and Favre who are ancient players, and 5 more alternates.... we are the new San Diego Chargers without the playoff runs. And we have a Schottenheimer on the CS too.

Well, the Jets need a Matt Ryan to fall into their laps. I was impressed by Ratliff in the offseason and think he might have what we're looking for. I don't think Mighty Mouse Kellen Clemens has it so it will be Ratliff or a drafted QB. Given Mangina's brilliance, I fully expect them to draft a QB in the 7th round and rest on their laurels.

The Jets need a competent coaching staff above all else......because we have talented players already...we're built to win now. The current coaching staff killed this team.

NDmick is correct in saying that we need someone who won't screw with talent (we're built for a 3-4, it should stay that way)....and someone who can get the most out of the talent we already have.

If Favre retires....fine....then that's a bridge we'll have to cross when we get to it. Whether it's Ratliff (I'm not sold on him yet....he's GREAT against 3rd stringers in the preseason....but i need to see more from him before I start lobbying for him)...or Clemens (he's is a wash...he showed he's regressing in TC). And the draft is a crapshoot.

But the CS has to be in place early on..so hopefully, Woody doesn't fuck the dog on this one..

you just got Parcells as the man who oversees all, and your owner is selling the team. Your future is looking very very bright.

The Fins had great years and even decades, you'll rebound as a franchise.

The Jets aren't a franchise to rebound after one Cinderella season. And that was the 1969 season. You don't root for this team, so its hard to understand.

it's a free country..if some of these guys want to root for the Dolphins...let them. I'm a Jets fan....Chad Pennington ceased being a Jet in Aug in my opinion...that's the bottom line.

But calling me a "cry baby" was a tad out of line....what the hell is that about? If you're looking to troll...you can go "fuck a duck" for all i care.

its been awhile man....ive seen some shit sense marino retired....the list of quaterbacks and coaches is ridiculous....popwarner teams have more consistency at head coach then the dolphins have....

but at last, i think we might have the ship turned the right way....fuckin finally...the jets just need a quaterback for the future....want john beck? we can swap him for coles straight up

    touche.

Believe it dude....that's what happens when you blow 150 million on Free Agency and bring in a legend at QB...the expectations were through the roof...especially since our schedule was quite favorable.

yeah...1-15 sucks....but like i said in my previous post....Coaching makes a huge difference. Your roster didn't change that much in the offseason (you guys added Fergie , Fasano, Penny, J. Long, P.Merling..and a few others).....but Sparano has done an excellent job turning you guys around. He evaluated the talent and worked with what he had. Mangini is incapable of doing this....because his philosophy is to try and fit a square peg into a round hole....and the worst part of it is...he knows it...but is too damn retarded to make adjustments on the fly.
