I wouldn't mind it. He took a team to the Super Bowl. At least he knows how it's done....no recent jets coach can say that

God no! This is one of the mistakes people made with Herm. They said as long as Herm was gone, it didn't matter who the Jets hired. The replacement needs to be a good one. Callahan was run out of Oakland and Nebraska. If the new coach wants to keep Callahan in his current role or even as OC, I'm fine with it.

This team needs a foot up its collective ass, not a Norv Turner clone.

    Hell no.

If the Jets were dumb enough to fire Mangini for fucking Calahan, or no real candidate besides Calahan, then we deserve to lose.

Good guy on a coaching staff? Hell yea. Heading a coaching staff? Negative.

    That sums it up.

Nope Callahan does not yet deserve to be a head coach. He has done great with our OL this year, and maybe is up for a promotion, but not all the way to HC yet. I want a kick ass and take names firey DC to be our next head coach, ala Rex Ryan/Steve Spags

Nah, not Callahan. Someone new, or someone proven.

Fuck no. In fact I still don't think you fire Mangini if the following happens.

    1. Sutton is gone and replaced with Crennel.

    2. MORE IMPORTANTLY. The Chin or another viable alternative is available. No Fassel. DEFINITELY No Callahan.

No way. I dont want Callahan as the HC of this football team. Get me Cowher, Spagnoula, or Billick.

I don't think it doesn't matter who they hire, I think they need someone that has led a team to meaningful games before, and he has.

Cowher is the top choice, but I would take Cally.

If Mangini goes, Sutton and Schotty both need to go to. If that happens, Favre is done, but despite that I think we'd be on the right track.

Good God no. The man fell into a great defensive team which is the only reason for his success. Ozzie Newsome and Marvin Lewis have a hell of a lot more to do with that super bowl win then that bozo. And with the media in NY? he'd be a disaster

Fair enough, but just leading a team to meaningful games doesn't make him a good coach. He was a disaster in Oakland. You could argue on the same note that Pete Carroll was a good NFL coach because he had a career winning record or that Herm is a good coach because he's been to the Playoffs four times.

All I can say is no way. I like what he has done with the o-line, but no.

I'm in no mood to talk football, but i did come back to check the board and felt i had to comment on this one.

    NO WAY

    Yeah that's true.

I guess I am just going on the assumption that we can't get Cowher. I don't want another guy who has never been a head coach before....enough of that

Throw 5 years 30 mil at Cowher he will come here, I mean why not we gave Favre 12.5 mil this year to retire early.

Callahan would be bearable, and it would mean we don't get stuck with a Pats assistant. It shocks me that some people want Billick, guy has proven hes a JAG.
