I say Pennington only because of the impact i mean that was a 1-15 team last year and the main reason player wise was him

Just took a look at the AFC secondary list on NFL Live and they really did get it right. No more BS like John Lynch sneaking on there.

Congrats to the Jets that are going to the Pro Bowl, but Favre going is an absolute joke.

And with 7 Pro Bowlers this team has no excuse for finishing with less than 11 wins. If the Jets don't make the playoffs, but have 7 guys on the Pro Bowl roster, they all should give up their spots.

or find a new coach... that much talent but can't put it together?... I only want one coach gone, but if they don't make it, I will want all of them gone.

The reason that we have as many Jets as we do is because of the Favre effect.

This really should motivate the team to win their final 2. They are good, how embarressing would it be to lead the league in Pro Bowlers, yet miss the playoffs? They don't want that.

Chad's been a steadying force, but Joey Porter's return to Pro Bowl form and Ronnie Brown's ascent to that level have had at least as much impact.

That's good. Jenkins, Revis, Faneca and Jones all deserve the attention and recognition.

Correctly said. I have no problem, whatsoever, with the other five Jet selections. Faneca is debateable but I don't think he's been a pro-bowler this year. He's been OUTSTANDING in run blocking but he's been very medicore in pass-blocking. (He's given up way too many QB pressures and/or sacks - he gets beat in pass-blocking more than most woudl care to admit)

As for Favre, as much as I appreciate him as a quarterback and as much as I have reveled in defending him against the incredibly silly and disingenuous Chad fanatics on this board, all I can say is . . .

I find the posts critical of Favre's selection kind of misguided; he's the one who put this team on the map. Without the attention Favre's arrival brought, most of those guys wouldn't have sniffed the probowl. And I can almost guarantee that had Pennington, not Favre, been the QB then Jones wouldn't be having anywhere near the season he is.

Favre has certainly made a difference. But IMO, Jones is running so well because this team brought in Alan Faneca, Damien Woody and Tony Richardson to block for him. Compare this to last season where we had Adrien Clarke, Anthony Clement and a revolving door of FBs.

4 Starters, 3 Backups and 5 Alternates ... ... ... ... A possibility of 12 JETS at the Pro Bowl ... WOW ... Now as has been said lets see a division crown and at least a playoff win ... Obviously would love more than a single playoff win, but I could feel pretty good with at least 1

This is probably true. However, the simple fact that Favre's presence has brought a lot of attention and accolades to the rest of the Jets' players, is completely and utterly MEANINGLESS. There is NO justification for putting Brett Favre on the pro-bowl. A player should make the pro-bowl based on HIS individual production and how THAT production has helped his team WIN. While Favre has been very good at times, he has been too inconsistent to be a pro-bolwer this year. Overall, he's been a good quarterback. He hasn't been a GREAT quarterback.

And as for what you said about Favre's presence being a factor in Jones' success, I think you are giving him a little too much credit here. The offensive line has been tremendous in run-blocking for most of the season and Jones has run with superior vision and power. Favre has helped but his benefit here is not enough to qualify him for a pro-bowl selection.
