That play-action bootleg was beautiful to watch, and pretty much any other player on the Jets would have scored that play, but 27 yards rushing from Brett Favre is about 26 yards longer than I expect him to run.

So why isn't he Chad Pennington? Watching Favre's run again, you can see him try a little stutter-step shoulder fake to get past the tackler. When Pennington tried it against Buffalo, he broke Eddie Robinson's ankles. Favre? Not so much.

haha - I actually thought about that play right after Favre ran that bootleg. Pennington clearly has better moves.

The play action bootleg was a great play call.

However, like I mentioned in another thread. Take away the arizona game and you got a QB who has 15 TDs and 17 INTs in 13 games.

And seemingly no ability to lead us back when we lose the lead.

Taking away wins is a fool's argument.

    OK then

Taking away the Arizona win and the NE loss Farve has 14 TDs and 16 INTs in 12 games. Does that make any less of a point?

Take away Favre's right arm, and he's no QB.

Do you guys think that Favre's bootleg was a designed run the whole time? i didn't see any receivers and i know that Favre rarely runs the ball, even when he has space to get a 1st down. So i'm pretty sure it was a designed run the whole time, which is a very creative play call

It was definitely a designed run. I was thinking that might be the call on 4th and 2 late in the game too. Prolly woulda worked.

And better yet - it would be ratliff time. I have seen enough of favre and his limited (more then even chad) crap play. He is the weak spot in our offense - not the recievers.

Going down the stretch the guy has 1 TD pass and 6 INTs. Any other QB and benching would be a real discussion.

Let's put it this way. When you take regular season games out of the equation to prove your argument, you are grasping.

Wouldn't it be Clemens time? He's been the #2 all season.

It could be Browning Neagle time and we would get the production we get out of favre.

I guess Clemens would have easily led the offense to more than 24 points yesterday in your mind.

How is that a grasp. 15 TDs and 17 INTs in 13 games is an ACTUAL stat.

Yes he was great against a sloppy arizona defense for one game. If he was genuinely great we would have seen more of that type of play. We haven't. In fact its gotten much worse.

Look, I am from Illinois and had to watch Favre on TV many times, and I can tell you that I honestly don't care for his play. I also can't say that we wouldn't be in the same place with Pennington at the helm. But comparing the 2 is like comparing apples to oranges. 1 will go to the HOF the other most likely will not. 1 is old the other is not quite as old. Bottom line I would rather have a HOFer leading us into the playoffs than Penny. It really pains me to say that but it's true. However, if we do get beat by those Dolphins in week 17 I hope Chad has a good run in the playoffs, but falls short of wining the Super Bowl.

It's an actual stat that you manipulated by taking away a favorable stat. I could do the same and ask what Chad's QB rating would be if you took away passes of 5 yards or less, if I really gave that much of a shit, which I don't. Favre isn't what a lot of us wanted him to be when we traded for him, but there is a lot that he does to sell plays that do work that you won't take into account because you are still carrying a torch for Chad. I personally think we are better off where we are right now, and you quite obviously do not. And you will do things like 'take away the ***** game and...' to prove your point, which just makes no sense to me.
