Mitchell was a weirdo. That's the biggest reason why he was ultimately a failure. He did have a few good moments on the field, however. Gholston hasn't even done that yet. Mitchell's performance on 10/3/93 (7 receptions, 146 yards, 3 TDs) was one of the best ever from a tight end.
The ghost's high point so far was doing a fat man ballet dance pass rush after Cutler....god help us!! Kid is shocking shows absolutely no ball skills or a high motor...waste of a roster spot!
I am disapointed in gholston, but I like the decision by the cs, we need to win now, and the 6th overall pick should step up or be inactive, plus he's invisible anyway so whats the difference
With LT force feeding him the 3/4 maybe he can replace Sutton in the booth and call the defensive plays?
yes, this is the one time that calling him a worthless rookie is correct. I feel embarrassed for him. Maybe he will get it now.
The thing that always amazed me about the pick to begin with was this regime's supposed emphasis on "character" and "football in their blood" with their draft picks in the past. The drafted guys like Eric Smith and Anthony Schlegal because they were "football players through and through" even if they lacked in some measurable physcial category (speed, etc.). Yet, even though many pundits claimed that Gholston lacked in these very categories (takes plays off, only started playing football in his junior year of high school, etc.) they took him anyway. Very puzzling and could be incredibly impactful on our salary cap situation with all of that guaranteed money and no production, at least for the foreseeable future.
