What makes you think John Fox will be gone from Carolina?

The grass is always greener....you guys would have been calling for Cowher's head long before he won in Pitt.

I don't think Cowher would be a savior, but I'd love to have him as my coach.

But the last thing I'm worried about right now is who is coaching the team next year. I'm worried about this year and making the playoffs.

well farvenstein, between the two of us, we have decidely spread some serious man love for Rex over the past two days....

While I honestly think if Cowher were to come here, he would bring his 100% no doubts, but I also think we would have a 2-3 year window to win with him here, which btw would be without favre, if we switch coaches and offenses I dont think Brett comes back next year. So that would mean we would have cowher for 2 years with no qb to work with. Not exactly an ideal situation. I would rather keep mangini and schotty keep Favre for one more season, fire sutton and upgrade the pass d some more, see if we make a run, if we succeed or fail favre retires, we fire everybody assuming its a failure like every other Jetsfan and bring in Rex Ryan, who can be our Bill Cowher in terms of Fire, Desire, and longevity (I'm talking about a decade of coaching excellence from a single guy here folks) when's the last time we had a single coach for 7 years much less a decade? Did Ewbank even last that long?

Whatever happens, we need results now. This is a WIN IT NOW team. These vets that Woody brought in this offseason will not be here forever and it's a shame the coaching staff can't get it together. This is insane, this much talent and the Jets look like a highschool JV team out there.

I like Cowher's passion and his Steelers were always a contender so can't say I'd be disappointed if this happened. But, like Favrenstein said, it took him 15 years to win a Superbowl . Personally I don't see it happening. Mangini has put together a decent team in 2.5 years.. one would think he'd get at least another year or two to see things through.

No it won't. Cincy is talentless and he doesn't want to play the steelers twice a year out of his loyalty to the rooney family.

Let's just worry about Buffalo, and let the chips fall where they may, after the season.
I do hope we get him, though!

2.5 years is a very good point. Cowher got 15 years in Pitt to win a SB. Two and a half years is hardly ample time for a new coach who basically put together a whole new team to create a contender, regardless of the money spent this past offseason.

I am not very high on Mangini right now, but would be willing to give him another year or two regardless of this season's outcome...PROVIDED THE BS BROTHERS ARE GONE!

Talk to me if and when we miss the playoffs.

Right now lets make a super bowl run, if we don't make, it mangini is gone regardless.

guys, we went 4-12 last year, we are 8-5 and your saying taking a team from 4-12 to 10-6 is worthy of getting fired?

You need a serious reality check

I am convinced there is no coach that can win us a super bowl. I mean we played like crap the last two weeks but on top of that did you see all the things that went wrong. The bad call on the cotchery fumble on the reverse, the catch on the sideline by Royal where he was in bounds by maybe a millimeter, the cotchery drop on the deep sideline route in the 3rd quarter of that game, every time we got a first down a bronco was hurt. Then this week San fran puts the ball on the ground 5 times...yes 5 times and we get it once?? Every bounce went their way. Then we have the phantom holding call on the kick return. I am not defending our play at all but I am starting to believe we truly are cursed.

Seriously, they'd be calling for Cowher's head by year 3, too.

Totally agree. This sounds more like Cowher murmuring to someone off camera somewhere that he wouldn't mind taking a shot in the Big Apple.

I dont give a dam who coaches this team as long they coach to WIN. Cowher would he be better than Mangini who the hell knows. I do know Mangini isnt getting the job done. 2 losses that should have been wins all on Mangini.
