He is changing positions in a middle of the road defense. How can you expect him to be a superstar already?
what the hell was this point trying to accomplish? And go check Manning's 1st year... He started from the beginning???? That's new to me...
At this point most fans would take a D-rob. At least he got on the field, at least he tried to play well, even in a role he wasnt suited to play (3-4 nose) and at least d-rob had a statline, not 1 number and all zeros.
i really liked Cliff Avril, but I dunno if he was a 3-4 guy. Glad to see him doing well in awful detroit.
There is no comparison between skill positions and neandrethals. Gholtson is a bust, was a bust from day one and will always be a bust. Live with it.
WOOHOO! We get to call another first round pick a bust! Thats what we LIVE for as jet fans. Forget that he is a project type player only 13 games into his fucking career. He's a BUST!
So we drafted a "project" player with the 6th pick? Wow, our staff are pure genius, everyone knows you always draft a project player with the 6th pick. He was a workout warrior and we fell for it. I live in Columbus and I saw bust all over this guy, he made his mark in the horrible Big Ten.
2 words.....mario williams dude was shit the 1st season....took him till the end of the season to get his first sack and he was 1st overall....i think u guys picked a dud.....but i wouldnt call him a bust yet....
Mario Williams at least was able to get on the field and get experience, The Ghost has that name for a reason, he can't even get on the field and on the handful of plays he does, he is lost. Last week he looked like he was running in quicksand trying the run down the "lightning quick" Jay Cutler.
This didn't pan out. And for those yelling that we should wait for his development, he has shown no strength and no speed. These are things that do not need to be taught, they should come natural to a #6 overall. When he is in games, he is getting manhandled by B.S. tackles or guards or even tight ends. Sorry, we were sold a faulty bill of goods!
Although, in year 1, Williams was simply lacking moves. He had no technique, but he at least had strength and speed. Gholston gets stood up all the time. And for those who are saying he doesn't get significant playing time, I'm calling BS. The stat line is dry not for lack of playing time, but for lack of talent.
my thing is if we need a speedy pass rusher we shouldnt be looking in the big ten a speedy pass rush... we should look in the ACC SEC Big 12 if we are looking for straight out speed
