I'd rather take Street than Marquis, for whatever that's worth.

I think they plan on using Heilman in a Street trade

also, read what you posted. if the mets are going to sign garland why would they give up a player to acquire a pitcher that's slightly worse?

true...i didnt see the bottom part.
Im guessing the mets are planning on letting Perez walk and giving Niese the 5th spot.

    Santana
    Pelfrey
    Maine
    Garland/Marquis/Other Average pitcher
    Niese

Im not too confident in that rotation. Especially since we not sure how Maine is going to do.

Lowe could be in the mix too.

How exactly do you call the baseball team with the second highest payroll in baseball cheap?

They spend heavy on one part of the team (Santana) and then go el cheapo on other parts of the team (Farm system and depth) which is why we have big name players but go into the toilet when one of the stars hit a cold stretch

Let me explain how stupid you are. The Wilpons have amassed millions of dollars based on their business acumen. I would be surprised to find out you even have 1,500 in your bank account. Do you really want to continue to question their business acumen?

Our bullpen sucked the year before because we got cheap and decided the year before to not retain our good players from our pen and kept the garbage. It took 2 years until we finally decide to put a penny back into the pen. Even though we are a big market team we decide to stick with the slot system even though it has been to our disadvantage and our farm has also suffered thanks to that. All this high payroll has gone to the flash but none of the substance.

I question the team's lack of success, I don't give a damn what their bank statement states.

    Jermaine Dye is gone.

The White Sox have agreed to trade OF Jermaine Dye to the Reds for RHP Homer Bailey, reports the Dayton Daily News.

Can we all agree to just not respond to anything JoeJet says in the future? We may disagree but I'm fairly confident that the rest of you are Mets fans who genuinely want to see the team do well(except maybe Cakes) and not some delusional old man who wants to brag about his stock portfolio.

Ned Colletti is saying CC Sabathia wants to play for the Dodgers

I hadn't been paying much attention to this baseball shit, but I had WFAN on today and heard a 20/20 report about Dye being traded to Cincinnati. That got me mad for two seconds, maybe three.
I also heard the Mets are thinking about Trevor Hoffman.

    Will this team ever learn?

    Unbelievable.

Also, no to F-Rod and Lowe.

I would be okay with the Mets adding Fuentes and/or Street. Wood might be good, too.

I agree on the hate for Hoffman he is ancient, I don't agree with the hate on K-Rod, with the market as is he isn't even going to be overpaid like we once feared although I don't mind Fuentes, Wood and Street. I've even heard that he could consider a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option.

However I do think we need to get 2 big time relievers for our pathetic bullpen
