I sent this to Mr. Hochuli using his e-mail address from his law firm. What do you think? Dear Mr. Hochuli, Earlier this season, you were the subject of much criticism for an admittedly brutal call during a Chargers/Broncos game that led to the Chargers losing. At that point, I supported you. I said anyone can have a bad game. As a former baseball umpire myself, I understand that we are not perfect. When other poor calls came to light, and you were thrust into the media spotlight, I still supported Ed Hochuli, because I know you have been a reputable official in the NFL for years. However, that was before you were the referee for a game in which the New York Jets played. After watching Week 14's game between the Jets and the San Francisco 49ers, I realize that all the criticism was merited. You and your crew repeatedly made questionable penalty calls against the Jets, including a holding call on a kick return touchdown, which was completely unwarranted. Another poor call was when Kris Jenkins was flagged for defensive holding on a running play when he was tackled from behind. The call was especially frustrating because a Jet player, Dwight Lowery, was brutalized when trying to make the tackle. Furthermore, the number of penalties that were not called on the 49ers frustrated me, as a number of holding calls and blocks in the back went unnoticed by your crew. After the Tim Donaghy scandal in the NBA, I have lost much trust in officials throughout all major sports. After watching your crew ruin the game today, I have to question whether someone on your staff had a betting interest in this game. If not, then you and your crew are poor excuses for NFL officials, and should be replaced as soon as possible. What happened to you Ed? You were the posterboy for NFL refs, the one everyone loved and respected. But this year has been nothing but a litany of poor calls and no-calls. Where did Ed Hochuli go wrong? Have a nice day, Devon Edwards
Dear Ed Hochuli, I am a fair weather Jets fan, who when we are winning I love the team, when we are losing I prefer the much better New York team. We lost today because we suck, but I won't admit that because I am a pathetic fair weather Jets fan. So I blame you. I can't accept that this Jets team simply was over-rated and beat hacks during their win streak to give me false hope of our playoff hopes. I am a sad, pathetic Jets fan who is crying in his beer after yet another loss and I blame the refs again. Just like I did against Denver, and Oakland and everyone else we beat. I am sorry I cannot realise that we are not a good team and that blaming the refs for every loss just proves how inept my ability to judge is, but that is how it goes being a fan. Yours sincerly, All pathetic Jet fans.
yo no joke...go fuck yourself...your team is going to choke a fat dick and if its the jets as the WC the jets will probably run them out of the playoffs...your going to eat your words...whether its brett or peyton making you do it
Dear gunny, You are a piece of shit, holier-than-thou, douchebag. Please jump off a bridge. Sincerely, The rest of TGG
The call on the non-existing holding on leon's KO return turned the game. I hate when that kind of shit happens. But this was a remarkably uninspired performance (again) by this team and imo, much of it starts with the CS.
kinda tough to send an email about how bad a ref is when your team is one of the teams in the game. you would be better served choosing to kill him over a game that you arent emotionally tied to.
