It was nothing Denver did that stopped the Jets passing game. The plays were there, but the combination of the weather, inaccurate passing and drops is why the passing game was so ineffective.
Yeah, if we had pulled BF out at halftime we would have missed out on that great second half comeback.
Wow. Just wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Maybe we should have pulled our whole line while we were at it. All our starting receivers. Our entire secondary... This is so silly its beyond comical.
You can't just pull the QB like that. We went through this all of last year, it's not a video game. Now we have Favre, you want to pull him? Come on.
I'm not gonna beat around the bush here: if you really think pulling Favre out at the half and putting BRETT RAITLIFF (!!!) in would've increased our chances of winning that game, then you are a complete moron. I mean, you do understand how football teams practice, right? You do realize that it's almost 99% certain that Raitliff hasn't taken snaps with the first team offense in months -- if he ever has at all -- right? You do realize that players have to actually practice together in order to play together at a high level, right? Right?
IMO that was planned by Denver. It was a way to kill momentum and to give them extra time to implement the proper defensive packages. The league is going to have to look into a rules change to prevent this shit.
Denver brought their secondary up. I don't see how you can say that the opponent on the field is not a factor in how a game goes.
There would be no reason to pull the line and recievers, their backups have no abilities absent among the starters. But Ratliff can buy time with his legs, an ability absent from the starter at this position.
You don't root for the Jets, you root for Brett Favre. If practicing with the fellow starters is so important then Brett should not have started the first game of the season, for at that time both KC and Ratliff had more practice time with the other starters. If I search through the older posts, will I find one by you demanding that BF sit until he has as much practice time with the first unit as KC and Ratliff?
That doesn't make sense, yes Vick does have good speed, but there are other issues involved with being a QB.
Guy, your post was a joke. Defending it is an even bigger joke. You wanted Ratliff? Why? What has he shown against a NFL defense? Nothing. He has never played a down against a first unit. I'm not saying he will never be good, but you do not pull a starter, let alone a future hall of famer like Brett Favre, for a guy like Ratliff. not in a season were you are 8-3. Your QB is your leader. You do not crucify for a bad game. Ever. That is coaching suicide. Your post was stupid. Really fucking stupid. There is no defense for it and you may as well hang up that notion.
