we're going NOWHERE in the playoffs if we don't get some OLB pressure on the QB. Cutler, P. Manning, Cassell, you name it will pick us apart just like today if we don't get to the QB. I don't know why the jets can't get it in their head that you can't expect your secondary to cover guys for 20 seconds per play.
I love our DLine for a 3-4... But WHHHHHYYYYY do our blitzes ALWAYS get picked up so easily!? Now seeing Pittsburgh extensively the last 7 years, it's fun to see how they mix it up, send safties, send corners, delay a blitz with a LB just to smash the QB... The Jets try that, and a Guard is just waiting for them. It sucks for guys not named Revis, because amazingly without a pass-rush he still makes great plays on the ball, when its thrown his way.
The Broncos allowed 8 sacks all year. 4.5 by the OL themselves. That means a lot of teams haven't gotten sacks on Cutler in a game. We are no different. Lets calm down. 8 sacks allowed is the least in the NFL. So let's tip our caps to Denver. This is not a reflection on us.
And Cassel shredding us? Tyler Thigpen? Our pass-rush looks good on the stats, in the Top 10 in sacks... But all too often I see 3-man rushes and too much time for the QB. Our pass-rush is very overrated.
Forgetting sacks was Cutler knocked down today at all? I don't remeber one time when he was on the ground today.
Mebbe its a coincidence, but the pass rush seemed to disappear right around the same time Bryan Thomas did his own disappearing act.
Well, they play in the AFCW. It helps them that they play against the likes of the Chargers, Chiefs and Raiders, teams that can't sack anybody, especially the Chiefs. We definitely need to get more pressure, no doubt about it. Maybe we need Gholston to step up after all.
The knockdowns aren't there due to Sutton's vagina defense. But when he does send people at the QB. They get a sack. Go figure.
