I'm sorry, but since you are throwing insults ("infantile", "total lack of football knowledge") so casually at uberchink opens you up to this: this one statement alone sorta proves it's you that has no idea what you are talking about. At about the halfway point of the season last year the Packers had one of the worst (if not the worst) running offense in the NFL. If you want to ggogle it, there are probably still about 50,000 articles from last year about how bad (I believe the word most often used was "nonexistent") the Packers running offense was then. The Packers literally had to chew through a half dozen mediocre running backs before they finally uncovered Ryan Grant from #5 on their depth chart. Even looking at last season overall, the Packers won despite their running game, and because of their passing offense (second only to Patriots in the rankings). And although it's become fashionable among the ignorati to blame Favre's passing & his OT interception for the loss in the NFC championship, the fact is the running game sucked for the Packers all day, and Fare's passing was the only thing the Packers O had going. The Packers had about the same passing yards as the Giants, while meanwhile the Packers had 28 total yards rushing Please practice what you preach, don't be "infantile and reflect a lack of football knowledge"; try to better know what you are talking abut before posting,
How soon you forget 2005 and 2006... Sometimes a team can bring back the same players and have them not play the same way. If you want to blame that on a Favre aura, you can, but I think that's foolish. I prefer to look at the numbers and see a defense that lost Corey Williams and Cullen Jenkins and cannot replace either one. I'm surprised everyone just looks at the win-loss record, blames Thompson (and/or Rodgers), and that's that. Favre gave him no choice. At some point you have to find out what your young talent is. Favre was AWFUL in 2005 and not particularly good in 2006. He was great in 2007, but at that point, Rodgers was getting to the point where he was soon going to leave for nothing.
Your analysis is flawed. 1. Favre is so durable (valuable quality) that he is the most experienced QB in league history and he has thrown so many more passes than everyone else that he should by definition have more ints. simply based on the high volume of pass attempts.
You do realize Rodgers sprained his shoulder in week 4 and has tried to play through the injury since then. He hasn't missed a start but his stats have suffered. Before then he was playing at an elite level. But even with the injury he's 10th in the league in passer rating.
Actually, I wasn't insulting anyone. Just making a statement that blaming this on a QB who has actually played fairly well in his first full season as a starter (with an injured shoulder to boot) is ridiculous. The reason the Packers have lost the make or break games is not the quarterback.
