Alright. Here is my team. QB: Aaron Rodgers RB: Joseph Addai RB: Marshawn Lynch WR: Roddy White WR: Terrell Owens WR/RB: DeAngelo Williams Bench: WR Randy Moss WR Braylon Edwards WR Ted Ginn Jr. QB Jason Campbell RB Lorenzo Booker TE Dustin Keller K: Matt Bryant DEF: NY Giants RB/WR: 10 yards per point rushing/passing, 6 points per TD, 5 point bonuses at 100, 150, and 200 yards QB: 25 yards per point, 4 points per TD, 5 point bonuses at 300, 350, and 400 yards. Now time for the trade... I get: QB Drew Brees RB LaDainian Tomlinson WR Steve Breaston WR Santonio Holmes I give: QB Aaron Rodgers RB Marshawn Lynch WR Terrell Owens WR Randy Moss New lineup: QB: Brees RB: LT RB: Addai WR: Roddy White WR: Braylon/Breaston/Ginn/Holmes Flex: DeAngelo Williams
I wouldn't do this. Brees is a large upgrade (the bonuses help a lot), and LT and Lynch are probably even with maybe a little tip of the scale toward LT. However, it is a LARGE downgrade for your WRs. I would try packaging Owens or Moss with Edwards to see if you can pry Brees that way. You have a glut of WRs and do not need them all.
I've tried. I can play matchups with my four guys and do pretty well probably. He said he would do Roddy instead of TO, but I don't know if I'd do that. I love the fact that Brees plays in the dome though because this winter has been pretty snowy so far.
I would have done this if you had been in a 6 pt TD league for QBs, but with those generous bonuses for RB/WR, it's a tough call. LT might start mailing it in if the Chargers lose another game, but Lynch has a couple of tough matchups against Miami and us. Moss could start posting huge games every week (after this one), and Owens is on a team fighting for a playoff spot with a resurgent QB. If you feel confident that it won't come back to hurt you in a playoff matchup with the other team, and you think the matchups would be ok, do it. I'm just not sold on any of your remaining WRs outside of Roddy White.
No no, you want Roddy White. He's got a great remaining schedule, and a couple of those teams should shut down Michael Turner on the road.
I ended up doing it. He added Tennessee defense, and I added the Giants defense. I felt I needed just a little bit more, and that is just a little bit more. I still need a win (or one of two other teams to lose) to make the playoffs, so that matchup against Detroit is really helpful to me. They also play Cleveland, Houston, and Pittsburgh, two turnover machines, and Pittsburgh, who also can turn the ball over a lot.
