Brett is doing his job, good for him. I still like Chad more and he was much easier to root for.

While I agree that Chad doesn't suck , but he need an absolutely solid team around him to succeed. I think the difference (Stats aside) between Chad and Brett is Chad would not have won against teams we have won with our current squad.

Not if you are a Jet fan. Last I checked, all things Chadwickian have relocated to Miami.

All things but the remaining Chad Fans, that is.

It's hard not to like Chad but I prefer to have a real shot to win a SB. I'm sure Mangini and Tannenbaum felt the same way when they cut him.

That Favre ended up on the JETs is amazing.
I am a Packer fan by birthright- i don't really remember the Packers of the 1960s but I rooted for QBs like Scott Hunter (Starr's replacement), David Whitehurst, Lynn Dickey Majkowski etc and receivers like Lofton Jefferson McGeorge and Sharp- Through many disappointments. Then Favre comes along- as Collingsworth has stated, exit Wally Pipp enter Lou Gehrig.

For a brief time grew up in Minnesota, I was even a Vikings fan for a while but they would ultimately lose the SBs that they appeared in. I was growing up in the seventies and did not want to wear Packer gear in Minn. I wore Jets gear. Think of Fred Savage in the Golden Years- right down to the letter jacket. That was me. If you were between the ages of 10-14, it was hard to grow up in the 70's and not be a Jets fan... coming off SB3 the Jets were legends amd everywhere- first Monday night game, playoffs vs KC, always on the tip of Cosell's tongue. My heros were Namath and Maynard. I am a big fan of Lou Holtz not the best HC of the Jets but what a piece of work.

    Few of my favorite things:
Following Freeman McNeil Roger Vick and Al Toon (was a Wisconsin Badger) on a regular basis.
    Loved Boomer Esiason.
Gang Green Defense: Klecko Lyons Gastineau (i am leaving some one out)

I went to college in Oxford, Ohio. A man lived in Oxford Ohio and I would see him in the drugstore or the ice cream store (he liked ice cream), or park area uptown, but never the pub bec he did not drink. He wore a Jets windbreaker and we would talk- more than pleasantries, usually about 30 minutes. His name was Weeb Ewbank. The most interesting Man I have ever met. He loved Joe Namath and Darryl Lamonica. He wanted to coach the Bengals (Paul Brown would not hire him although they were great friends) but loved the Jets. He basically loved the AFL- and this in spite of coaching Unitas and Alan Ameche in Baltimore against the Giants in 1958- the greatest game ever played. What a legend. If you wanted to know about NFL-AFL history in the heyday of the 60's this he would ve been your source. He died in the early 90s if I am not mistaken.

There has always been a Jet Fan in Me and I think I'll stay. I cannot recite scores or stats, missed some periods of time there. But I am glad favre went to the Jets. I would not, repeat would not, have even watched him this closely had he gone ANYWHERE else (with the possible exception of Tampa since I live there). I would be taking my licks like every other Packer fan after Monday Night flop, and hoping for Ted's next great adventure to be somewhere far far away from the state of Wisconsin.

We should all be thankful (timing is perfect) that he is a Jet- He could have, and I have posted this elsewhere, (this might have been predicated on whether he had officially retired from the Packers), been on a plane in week 2 to Logan airport and a bus to Foxboro to play with Randy. OMG! ( he was never going to sign that no-play-for-pay agreement with Murphy.

Thanks for the vine- i mean thread

Actually it was 2 of 3 drives not 2 consecutive. We had a chance to end it in regulation w/ 1 1st down but couldn't do it.

The D gave Favre and the O the ball 6 tijmes on Tos to build a 34-0 lead. The D played great in the 1st half, w/ the big lead they stunk in the 2nd half but that game was never in doubt.

So you were watching the Miami game instead of the Jet game?

AGAIN the D is the reason we had a 34-0 lead by forecing all the TOs including scoring a TD.

Why can't Jet fans just acknowlegde Chad is good? Brett is now playing excellent football but it doesn't mean Chad sucks b/c Brett is now playing well.

I will admit to the fact that Chad is Good enough to lose like he did yesterday. He played good when you need to play Great as a Qb to win in the NFL. Chad does not suck this year he is just not nor has he ever been Great enough to win the big one.

I only cought the first half of the Miami game, I flew back late afternoon. Tivo'd the Jets and Giants but got the second half of the Giants game on Jet Blue. Highly recomend flying Jet Blue for the direct TV feature.

Very frustrating, the only good thing was it took me about 45 minutes to watch the Jets game without huddles and commercials when I got home. Plan to rewatch it Sunday morning instead of listening to the pre-game.

I completely agree. Sometimes its hard to debate with you junc. I just feel that if Favre had a game like Penny against NE (where he went 3 TD's and 1 INT) and the Jets lost that you would be ridiculing Favre for the pick. It just seems like Penny's picks are never as "bad" in your eyes as Favre's. All that said though, I have seen the many ridiculous "Favre-lover" posts/posters that have you so irritated. Just please don't let the blind Favre-lover fans ruin the credit of others. I hope you are not lumping me in with the group. Plenty of them annoy me as well and take away credibility.

So it was Chad's fault? Interesting. he did nothing but lead his team to TD after TD while the D gave it back and then some but it was Chad's fault they lost but it was the Jet's D's fault that we lost at Oakland, right?

This is the problem w/ alot of you guys. You interpret how I feel instead of reading what I actually post. I have given Favre alot of credit for the last 3-4 games. he has played excellent football. I was frustrated w/ him earlier b/c he wasn't playing well. i diedn't blame him by himself but he was hurting us against Cincy, oak and KC.

I don't lump you in w/ the others, I have said there are a few good favre/Packer fans and I told that a long time ago. I can argue w/ folks and not take it personally. B/c I don't agree doesn't make the other poster bad, I appreciate when guys come back at me w/ good points and I think you do that.

Chad was covering Moss, didn't you watch the game? Silly Chad, threw for 3 TDs and ran for another but totally sucks in coverage.

It's hysterical but our D will get the blame for losing to oak giving up 16 pts in 5 qtrs.

I think your missing the point. On days when the D sucks Farve has proven over 18 years that he can get it done more often than not. If everybody else does not play well Chad loses. Period. It was not the D's fault it was the fault of the offense in Oakland and the buck stops with Farve and the offense. Even when Baker fell on a pass that would have put us in field goal position to win the game. Even when Farve is bad we still win or have the chance to win.

Hey, Kellen Clemens was a hero last year for leading us to 13 points in 5 quarters against Kansas City.

I'm not bashing him. I'll be the first guy to stand up and say I was wrong about Favre. I thought he was self-centered, washed-up and overrated before he came here and none of that had anything to do with Chad. That was just my feeling about Favre the past few years as a neutral observer who doesn't give a shit about Green Bay pro or con. I couldn't be happier to be wrong because I'm a Jet fan and I want to win, regardless of who is playing. He's been great, blended in, handled everything perfectly and is now playing the great football we hoped he would.

What I find funny is that out of all the people here who endlessly bashed Chad throughout the past years---said he was done, couldn't throw the ball five yards, couldn't beat good teams, couldn't win games in the 4th quarter---not one of them has manned up and said they were wrong. Not one. It's not about any of us rooting for the Dolphins, unless it helps the Jets, of course. It's about the ongoing conversations we've had on here for years as Jet fans. The Chad haters will still look for any excuse, any twist of the facts, to avoid admitting they were wrong about him. And they were clearly wrong. The beauty is it's all stored away on here somewhere, so there is no denying it.
