And I am so, so happy!

Mike Mayock said seconds after we drafted him that this kid could be Rookie of the Year. Mayock also said just wait Jets fans, you will love this kid come training camp!

AND BOY HE WAS RIGHT!! :jets:

He NEVER EVER owns up to anything. He'll still come here and tell us Keller was a bad pick!

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Just had to be done.

The things this guy has been right about since I've posted here include...nothing. He did introduce me to the idea that Revis and Harris were the culprits behind what could/should have been a great 7-9 season last year.

Normally I'd say he's just here for comic relief, but then I remember how he's not really funny either.

Considering the last three tight ends this franchise had drafted:
    1. Johnny "Head Case" Mitchell
    2. Kyle "I should have been a tackle" Brady
    and
    3. Anthony "Bigfoot with Stone Hands" Becht

I can understand how some like Br4dw4y5ux could be negative about the Keller pick.

I can't. I have no idea how any of them tie into each other beyond being high picks at TE for the Jets.

At least those guys were given time to be busts.

Liberal amounts of JD & diet coke seem to pave the way smoothly.
This needed to be done as it has been on my conscience the last 3 weeks.
I am very happy to be wrong.

I am Jet fan, hence I don't need a reasoned or rational argument.
It is no different than the SOJ posts you see after a bad loss.
Seriously how does a loss 15 years ago by a completely different team, players, HC staff, etc have anything to do with today?
Yet we still lament SOJ even in 2008 - see "Raiders, Oakland" for reference.

Plus at the time I confidently wrote the post, history was on my side: Mitchell - Brady - Becht - Jolley all sucked.

Only Mitchell and Jolly were awful. Brady and Becht were both very good players for the Jets they just weren't good in the passing game. Mitchell to his credit was one of the great players in league history to play using a prosthesis for a brain.

    I can understand this.

I can also translate this into "the JETS had never made good use of the TE position before, so what makes us think that they will now."

That was the thinking of the majority of JET fans after the Keller pick was announced.
Why would we trade up in the draft & surrender a 4th round pick to grab a TE???
    We never use our TE???????!!!!!!!!
Its not an excuse, just an explanation of many knee jerk reactions when JETfans heard "with the 30th pick of the first round, the NY JETS select Dustin Keller, TE Purdue!"

And the proof of that was on page 1...

Big time respect for you, Chief.

If I were to dig up every thread I started that came back to bite me in the ass,.....I would take over the website.

Mickey Shuler was awesome. If Keller comes close to Shuler, we are really going to enjoy his time with the team.

Well, we are all hoping you can start the same ridiculous thread about Gholston...oh wait, that will never happen.
