ummmmm well based on the last game i have to agree with him. The jets got absolutely NO pressure on cassell...
Could it be that New England has 1 of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Or how about New Englands offensive line has been together a longtime... What was the result of that game..................
You think the Pats O-Line is THAT much better than the Titans? I don't. Considering Kollins has been sacked, what 5 times this year?
Yes I do. And how many Super Bowls have the Titans won????? Collins is not a mobile QB and Sunday you will see the result.
Cassel did a good job of moving around in the pocket and scrambling throughout the game to avoid pressure too. For example, the last play of regulation would have likely been a sack if Collins were the QB.
....... how many super bowls has the jets won? Cassell didn't avoid sacks with his mobility. And i'll beat you to it, his running was because he had 30 yards of open field in front of him. And why was that? because the jets put absolutely no pressure. The jets have a lot of sacks, but they don't consistently put pressure on the qb, which is far more important. Notice the distinct lack of turnovers the jets have forced in the past few games. Pressure causes qb's to make mistakes.
Cassel taking off was a result of the pocket collapsing and Barton covering the RB. The last decent pass rush the Titans faced was in week 4 against the Vikings. They had 5 sacks in the first 4 weeks........ the Jets had 13 in the 1st 4 weeks. The next team on the Titans list is the Ravens - they have 20 sacks on the year ranked 14th.. The Titans have not had to deal with pass rushing teams all year. This will be there 1st test. And they can't play 3-4 teams, the last two times they faced 3-4 teams they've lost. BTW the Jets own the greatest football story ever told.
He is dead on. If you disagree, watch how many times Cassel was "touched" -> not even "pressured" or "sacked", but "touched" - last week.
collins has 5 sacks because up until two weeks ago the titans ran the ball exclusively. cant sack the qb when the rb has the ball. but the last two weeks have shown that the titans running game CAN be stopped, putting the ball in collins' hands. thus, more volunerable to sacks. here come the jets. as far as the jets rushing 3 and dropping 8, mangini chose to play the secondary versus the box. he said so. will that change with ty law playing opposite revis and rhodes playing over the top? sure should. look for the extra man in the box all game on run support or pass blitzes. game over. jets 27 titans 3
Do the Titans even have an WRs I dont seem to recall hearing of or seeing any in the top of any statistic leaders this year or last.
They haven't achieved 30 catches yet. Although one has 29, I think its Brandon Jones. It's not their WRs I worry about. Its stopping the run and limiting Scaife in those 3rd down situations.
Skip Bayless is still alive. I thought he died about 3 years ago. Or was that just when he lost all of his viewers/readers?
Bayless is prolly the weirdest big time sports writer and his one man crusade to convince the world that Aikman was gay was prolly the weirdest thing a sports writer has done in my lifetime.
his whole point for being on the show is just for what he did here, stir the pot and piss people off. Although I did like his halloween costume lebrick james w the red brick, man is he a shitty shooter.
I'm a sports journalist so I rarely jump on reporters. But Bayless is the worst I have seen, maybe even worse than Mushnick. Bayless twists facts to make them work for his pre-planned agenda and just comes across as an arrogant ass. He is never willing to admit a mistake or that he was proven wrong.
