The Jets are 2nd in the NFL in converting Passing 3rd downs with 45.5% conversion rate. The stadium roommates are in 1st with 46%. Thats how you win games - stay on the field by completing 3rd downs. I thought I'd share this with you.
I think Favre-to-Keller was 3/3 in 3rd down conversions on that final game-winning drive, too. Good stuff.
And Favre was 9/12 in 3rd down conversions in that game. Against a division opponent. That is not common at all.
It would be interesting to see the game by game breakdown--it sure feels like we've had a high % the last 2 or 3 games with some real critical ones made--eg., Kellers OT 3rd and 15. ^Thats a huge correction--what is the definition of a passing down?
ya i got no clue where they rank in total 3rd down conv, prob somewhere in the middle of the pack id assume.
That's a very over-looked and underrated stat. Cool to see Favre and the Jets so high in that category.
Thanks--talk about a literally named stat! OK--so when it is 3rd down and the Jets indeed pass the ball, they do well relative to the other teams. Maybe someone should send this stat to the OC.
shit happens man. the only thing that matters is what we do after shit like that. so far so good. hopefully our win streak post-raiders disaster will continue
