Can anyone else see the NYJETS knocking off the soon to be undefeated Titans. Its gonna happen. Go JETS!
Especially because the game will be played at home, yes! I can see it happening. Our defense can shut down the run game, I don't think their wr's and Kerry Collins can beat us thru the air. We have Favre on offense so anything is possible.
I don't know about anyone else, but Sunday I'm going to be rooting hard for Jacksonville! If Jacksonville pulls off the upset on Tennessee, and then we do next week, we'll be 1 game out of first in the conference! (with the tie breaker!!)
Not only do I see it happening but I guarantee it does happen. I have said all along that if the Jets find a way to win in NE they go on to beat the Titans. I still believe it.
The game is @ Tennessee, meaning that 80,000 people will have a total of 84,000 teeth. IT's on, biznatchios!
I'm sorry to have to admit that I really don't know the Titans very well in terms of how we match up against them, but I'm hoping we match up pretty well. Does anyone care to comment on how well we'll match up against them on both sides of the ball?
I think we match up really well with them. They rely on the running game and stopping the run both of which are our strengths. I feel confident that we can shut down their running game which effectively shuts down their O.
Not really. Chicago stopped their run cold (20 yards total), so Collins threw for 300 yards and 2 TDs and they still won.
We have no problem stopping the run but any QB (see Thigpen) can have a field day against us. Titans have a good defense so getting Jones going will be tuff. I dont know.
i think we win this game. i can see our coverage getting better with law now. we also have the extra days to prepare for them. i'm sure mangini is already game planning. i like our chances.
Cassel is not a rookie QB, he has been in that system for 3.5 years now and has gotten better in every game he has played.
There won't be a spread posted until Monday morning. I would think a preliminary Titans -5, but the Jacksonville game dictates a lot.
Actually Section, we match up very well. The interesting rarely mentioned keys are 'Dinger as the OC, McCareins at WR, and Mawae at C [but i'll discuss that later]. Jets Defense against Tenessee Offense. Advantage Jets. After playing a NE team with Wes Welker, Randy Moss, Jabar Gaffney, Ben Watson, and a Pro Bowl O line, the Titans offense drops off a bit. Kerry Collins is a game manager and cannot scramble like Cassel. The Titans lack a WR that requires double coverage like Moss, so the Titans will probably spread us out to run the ball. Running the ball is what Tenessee does best. They are probably looking forward to attacking us with the run early, often, at halftime, and during warm ups. Their combination backs of power and speed will be slightly worn down after their recent win against Chicago where they were held to less than 50 yards. The Titan RB's should be even more worn down after playing divisional rival Jacksonville this weekend [good game to watch for Jet fans and Coaching staff]. The Jets will probably blitz early and often, and have the personnel to defend the run regardless of the defensive formation we choose, which means that the fear of Tenessee's running game is non-existant, and we should take advantage of this. Pass protection is very good for the Titans, but only because their opponents had to defend the run first. The Jets excel in this category [see NE's spread offense after they realized they couldn't run the ball and were getting blown out] and can do what they want for pass coverage. Jets Offense against Tenessee Defense The Titans are hurting on defense with injuries to their interior line. Kearse is still an excellent pass rusher, and the Titans have speed at the linebacker position, but this team is built to defeat the Colts first. Jacksonville and Indy's recent woes at running the ball have translated into success for Tenessee. The Jets have no such problems [knock on wood]. The Jets will want to run the ball at Tenessee and hopefully with spread formations. Starting off with the underneath game to sustain long drives and then following the drives up with a more vertical offense should serve the Jets well. The Titans are hoping that the Jets look to pass first and run second. The fact that the Jets defeated NE and played against a tremendous frontline, bodes well for the Jets. Tenessee has either or defenders and not Richard Seymour type players. Dustin Keller's emergence and the use of Leon Washington as a weapon for all ages gives the Jets too many dimensions to prepare for as the team now has CONFIDENCE in each other and the abilities at each position. Advantage Jets. Special Teams. Actually even. It is what it is. Speed on both sides of the ball, and good tackling. Coaching. Advantage Titans. Jeff Fisher is going to have the Titans ready to play. The 1st half will be exciting, but the 2nd half should belong to the Jets. Fisher knows that with almost 2 weeks for the Jets to prepare, and his team coming off of a divisional game against Jacksonville, the best thing going for Tenessee is that they are at home. The Titans will be weary, but the Jets are the worst AFC team for them to play right now. Mangini needs to open up his mind and establish himself EMOTIONALLY. This would actually motivate the Jets to match Tenessee's initial intensity level. Eric needs to watch 300 every day and every night as they prepare to do battle with the Titans. This is the next statement game for the Jets, and the one that can propel them to a first round bye. Score. Jets should outrush the Titans, but have a complete balanced attack. The game against NE will serve as a reminder of how they must finish games, and is something they will build on and use against Tenessee. This is Brett Favre's offense, but Schotty should get the playoff sets ready now considering the Jets can do it all and are [finally] playing as a complete team. Jets control the game and win 24-20. 'Dinger, McCareins, and Mawae are the hidden keys to the game. Revis will own McCareins. Jenkins will get the better of Mawae, and 'Dinger will try to have his zone blocking scheme in full effect [like when he was here and in Denver] to wear out Jenkins. Expect some trickeration, but not enough for the Jets to get handled. Go JETS! [no commas or complete sentences were harmed during the forming of this post]
