    The Coaching Staff

When the Jets were up 24-6 -- it was despite the coaching staff.
Taking 31-24 lead despite coaching staff.
Up 40-0 against Rams -- despite coaching staff.
Excellent game against Bills -- despite coaching staff.

    Please.

I think the CS made some bad decisions -- but -- having lived through the Walton-Coslet-Kotite eras -- this coaching staff is prepared for every game. Knows how much time is on clock. Knows rules. Knows how many time outs we have. Makes some bad decisions from time to time but Im willing to accept that.

Championships are very often built on winning close games like this one.

Enough of this "we didn't win by enough of a margin" bullshit. Ask any Giants fan if he feels cheated or gives a shit if David Tyree caught that pass on his helmet.

I understand the point about using sports message boards to spout off about one's opinions. We all do that. But at this point to be complaining about Favre does not reflect well on one's football knowledge. He played a near perfect game yesterday. Alot went into the win, but without him in there, those two drives at the end don't happen and the Jets would have lost.

    As for the OP,

Mangini clearly is not great for making game adjustments. Jets had the game plan going in and caught a great break with Leon's return. But yes, the Pats had the better of the in game coaching, although they failed to mask their defensive calls at critical moments toward the end.

But I can't get into pessimism today.

Don has a point. First let me say that a win is a win, and this is an important win for the franchise (though I have seen many "important" wins over the years go for naught). But before we print super bowl tickets, lets realize something - this was a facade of a Patriot's team, a team that was lambasted by MIAMI a few weeks ago (in fact, this was a weaker team then the team that played Miami), and we were up 24 to 6 late in the 2nd quarter, when that fat pussy starts getting Herm Edwards conservative on both sides of the ball, and lets the Pats, who were dead, back in the game. He shackles the aggressive defense that had shut the Patriots down all half and lets them walk down the field and score. Same thing at the end of the game. Two other points - Matt Cassell threw for 400 yards. Not Manning, not McNabb, Matt effing Cassell. And our vaunted offensive line could not get Jones 2 yards that would have been a first down that ended the game. So I'll take the win, but I'm definetly not sold on this team or especially this coach yet. Now if you all will excuse me, I have some crow to finish eating.

Winston Biggs was right... this board needs to be on Suicide Watch.

You've got people who can't even enjoy the win and get upset because we didn't win by enough even. How completely jerked off.

I wasn't complaining about him. Just stating my personal opinion.

Admit the obvious. This coaching staff plain stinks when it comes to 2nd half adjustment. Think about it; did you see this team coming out of the tunnel fired up and ready in 2nd half this season? EVER? Even the lowly Rams drove down for a FG, then was threatening at 1 yard the VERY NEXT FUCKING DRIVE. Had it not been for that lucky INT, who knows, a TD?

Anemic offense on 3rd quarter seems like Schotty isn't adjusting at the half time either. God, I hate Jets coaching staff.

What an amazing game! Anyone who isn't happy about that win last night must be secretly hoping for the Jets to lose, just so they can say "I told you so." A division game for first place was not going to be a cake walk by any means and even if the Pats aren't as strong as they have been in the past, they aren't a team to be taken lightly. The Jets had the will and desire to come up with a win in a close game. I would agree with your statement if the Jets had been close in every game and came up short... but with the Jets coming up with a victory for the #1 spot in the division it just sounds like your complaining just to complain. The Jets have been getting better week in and week out an I for one am enjoying the hell out of the ride!

It was on of those games. Did not matter what we did, blitz, rush 4, rush 3, we had no pass rush and our secondary had a bad game. Why blitz when you don't get to the QB. You might as well stay back. We got into a shootout last night, it happens, what matters is we can play with anyone. Shootout no problem, cold and windy game, no problem, we can run, pass with the best of them. I had no problem with the coaches last night, the defense just had one of those games and give credit to the Pats offense. They have one of the better offensive lines in football. We won a shootout

the fact that the patriots had an all-star lineup on their injured list and we barely beat them shows how poorly we are coached

The only thing worse than Mangini and this shitty CS is the shitty fans that support them. Probably the same guys that supported Herm for 6 years because he made the playoffs 3 times.

Adjusting in the 2nd half is not as easy as you think it is when you've been dominating and kicking ass like we were in the 1st half.

Why? Because you go into the 2nd half not knowing what kind of changeups the Pats will make until you're faced with them. And you're playing a wounded animal, capable of ANYTHING and pulling out all stops to change things up.

So... adjustments going into the 2nd half? Why? Our original game plan was working very well. It wasn't until the Pats went into all-out mode that we knew we had to counteract it.

If anything, the CS should realize (with the Patriots especially) that after kicking their ass so bad in the 1st half, you gotta know they're going to come out playing wild and loose.

Dethroning a champion is never going to be easy, but we did what we had to do last night to get a start on it.

You guys just hate the coaching staff period. Go root for another team because Mangini and crew are going to be around for a long time and if you can not enjoy last night for what it was, then why bother being a jet fan. God forbid, you would give the other team credit or hold the jet players responsilbe. Just blame the coaches. You guys make me sick and embarass all jet fans. Great play calling Schotty, great job Mangini having that team ready to play. Just a great win for the TEAM!!!

It seemed pretty damn easy for the formerly 1-15 Dolphins, and for 2 other teams besides us, considering the Pats have 4 losses on the season now, not 1.

Nah, you go root for another team. Find a really stupid fanbase of homers, because everything else disgusts you.

Terrific statement to be making the morning after we beat the multiple SB Champion NE Patriots on the road in inclimate weather.

I just don't fucking get it.
