You need to listen to what Mangini had to say about the defense on that last drive in regulation.

They were playing to keep the Pats in bounds, to chew up the clock and keep the Pat WRs always in front of them.

The Pats do it, and so do a lot of other teams.

Chew the clock, and don't let them go deep. They complete short passes in the middle.

One thing I will say...Mangini and Co. pulled Law off of Randy Moss on that last play and had him play him deep, thinking that Law had a good chance at an INT since he could not be outrun over such a short distance. Outsmarted themselves -- this is Randy Moss, and no matter what he's done so far, he always capable of making a phenomenal play. And so he did.

But the NYJs had already driven the length of the field to go up 7 points.

All this Moss heroic did was get them into overtime, where they lost the coin toss.

Favre, scared as he was, didn't let them get their hands on the ball again.

It had to really hurt the Pats, as they expected, just like always, that these good ole Jets are set to fold, like the two-penny paper bags that they really are.

    Sorry to disappoint the Patsies....!

Also, would like to point out what happened when Brett and Schotty ran into each other in the tunnel after the game.

    No shit.

    Where are their balls.....seriously.

Look at the Pats offense player for player....they are alot like the Rams except for the Oline....1 star WR (Holt/Moss), a quick underneath guy (Avery/Welker) and a solid possession WR (Bennett/Gaffney) plus a sold TE ( Klophenstein/Graham). The difference is that Bulger is better than Cassel.

So what did we do tonight? We gave Cassel all day and attempted to cover...something this team and coaching staff have proven repeatedly that they can't do.

For fuck's sake, last week we scored on D and had many meaningful sacks....we also controlled the depth of St Louis's passes by making Bulger think we were coming for him every time. That was not established tonight, Cassel never felt the pressure and there was no uegency when he dropped back.

Luckily, we won, we are in first......luckily. Let's hope we don't meet them in the playoffs, where they won't have a botched shotgun snap and give up a kickoff return TD.

We still need to get by the Broncos, who will pass on us all day and Seattle will have Haselbeck back when we play them....add the Fins to that and the Bills again.....the Jets have work to do.

If we'd won by 10+ I'd say the Jets legitimated themselves in the league tonight, but they didn't.

If you are going to crucify this staff for the last drive (and you/we should) we should give them equal love for coming up with a game plan that was pretty fucking impressive and had the Pats on their heels till that last fuckup at the end of the 2nd quarter.

There were some things to really like about what the CS accomplished and some stuff to seriously doubt the intelligence of the staff. Oh well nothing is perfect in Jet land.

lol, it almost looks like you are crediting the Jets for winning the coin toss, like we won the coin toss because we are more skilled and gameplanned for it. When you blow an 18 point lead and waste possessions when you should have won a game and bet everything on a coin toss, you've got problems. That's like working hard all year at your job, then taking your entire salary and gambling it on a Craps game, except there's probably more skill involved in that than guessing a coin flip.

That fat f*ck did all he could to lose

So, instead of being thrilled this morning I am livid that the slob who supposedly coaches this team did everything he could to lose this game. Right down to putting Ty Law on Randy Moss with the game on the line. Fortunately the team wouldn't let him do it. I don't care how far we go that son of a bitch should be fired.

This game should have never been close. The first half lead should have only been extended.

That last pass and catch was perfect, and I thought Law had pretty good coverage on him.

    We won, fuck it.

It's ridiculous for anyone to think that was ever going to be an easy game. Some people are never happy.

This game should have been easy. It was easy. We had an 18 point lead in the middle of the 2nd quarter. To not see what happened after that is just plain stupid. We won in spite of Mangini and it's time people start accepting that.

It's a pretty thin line between misery and euphoria with this team sometimes. I agree to the extent that if the Jets had lost that game everyone would be calling for Mangini's head on a platter today. I thought that the Jets played a near perfect 1st half. The Patriots obviously made half time adjustments that worked and the Jets did not. We were very fortunate to win that game.

Seriously...what if Favre didn't make that 3rd and 15 pass to Keller and we ended up losing the game? What would everybody be saying today? There was no excuse for that game to even have been close. We didn't once blitz a rookie QB. We just sat back and let him throw for 400 yards and 3 TDs. It was just totally unacceptable.

However, I am still thrilled about the win. I predicted it all along. I believe we are capable of beating Tennessee too but it will require decent coaching to do it.

Congratulations you have won ridiculous post of the day!!

We win , play well, show that we are not the SOJ and still we get idiots moaning!!

We are not perfect as a team or CS but we are moving forward and showing those famous " intangibles" such as spirit and never say die attitude.

Enjoy the win , bask in first place and lets focus on our next opponenet who can only run the ball!

Don, we won man. I mean I was just as frustrated during the game, but we got the win and to be honest how many times have you heard the pundits same the 'great' teams find a way of pulling out a win?

Let's just enjoy it, because we have The OTHER Titans coming up.
