And then if he gives it to Feely late, he'll be thinking "Whatever I'm probably gone in a week anyway."

    Two words:

    Smoke.

    Screen.

This is Mangini head games. The same thing old Belichick likes to play. Except, this year, he's got nothing to fake us out with.

Feely is starting, and he already knows it.

how do you NOT start Jay Feely.... Let Nuge sit out the rest of the season IMO unless Feely craps out.

I understand smoke screens when it relates to most positions (not discussing injuries to certain key players, etsc). But how does not knowing which kicker will play for the Jets disadvantage Beli-cheat?

Noodle leg kicking in the rain? What a bold gambit that would be.

    Exactly.

    What. does Nugent kick differently.

    "HEY, NUGENT IS IN!"

"SEND IN THE SPECIAL NUGENT PACKAGE!"

What difference does any positional change actually make? It's all mind games, nothing more. Mangini just has the Ty Law and Mike Nugent cards in his hand right now, so he's playing them.

I doubt either sees significant time tonight.

Missed a field goal that killed us against New England, nearly killed us against the Chiefs, and made things a little more uncomfortable against the Bills.

I'm not on the Feely bandwagon.

"Bandwagon" might not be the right word. More like a bumpy hayride where the pain in your ass is a matter of degree.

. . . plus, every Nugent miss takes one year off my life. Playing Feely is just a matter of good health.

this situation has one lesson that only bradway really needs to learn.

KICKERS ARE NOT WORTH ANYTHING MORE THAN A 7TH ROUND PICK.

what a waste we may have gotten an actual football player with that pick.

Yah really does not make any sense.. as If you can gameplan as to which kicker is thier... Everything can not be a smoke screen be for real

Except that there is a big difference in kickoffs between the two players, resulting in the special teams players being in a different place on the field when the returner catches the ball, thereby changing the entire blocking scheme to plan for.

    But what's special teams, really?

And again, it's mind-games. Did anyone ever actually believe Belichik when Tom Brady was listed as "questionable" every week? Did he file the report that way anyway?

I love how in the mad rush to prove an argument nonsense on this site, everyone is always ready to miss the forest for the trees.

I remeber seeing feely make a tackle and thinking, wow that looked like FUN, he really hit the guy. I'm glad to see the acknowledgment in his quote.

Gotta go feely, but I am sick of the feely music at the games (is anyone else anoyed by this?)...

I saw the same thing and can not figure it out either. FEELY is my choice though. He has done what he has done with a new holder and an inexperienced one at that! Hodges is the holder and he has impressed me.

I like Feely's attitude. Not just some precious kicker soaking his foot in ivory liquid.
