Maybe but it would lessen the big advantage that we have at the QB position, part of the reason why we lost the last Pats game was because we decided to go into a low scoring game with them instead of trying to force them to win with the QB.
The last two times the Jets have gone to NE it's been wet, nasty weather. One win, one loss. The Pats even ripped up their muddy field after we beat them there in 2006.
We lost in week 2 for many reasons. One was because we hadn't gelled yet as a team. Another reason and I've said it for the last two days is that we are just intimidated by them. We played not to lose instead of going in there and kicking some ass. I fully expect that won't be an issue on Thursday (at least I hope not). I think the weather benefits us for a few reasons. You are right in that it will affect the passing game and force it into a running game. I think we will stop their run better and we will be able to run on the football against their D effectively. Also, our QB is better equipped to play in these conditions so when we will need to go down field I think we will be able to. They also have field turf, so the field isn't going to play a big factor.
A. Its only Tuesday so this conversation shouldnt be happening till at least tomorrow since we all know how accurate the weather is. B. NOAA.gov says rain/snow before 9am and Rain mostly after midnight. So it may be a wet field but doesnt sound like too much rain during the game.
I would have preferred dry weather also. But we need to take what we're given. Cassel will undoubtedly be using Welker even more now, when he does pass. We need to cremate Welker early on to eliminate him, while using Keller more in short passing situations. But the rain can help us too. Our defense is already doing great at causing fumbles, knocking balls loose from QBs and picking off INTs, and the rain will only magnify that. That then should play into our other strength: run stopping. So Cassel is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't pass if he wants to move the chains. On the other side of the ball, we've been running the ball better than ever recently. Our O-line is finally getting it all together. We need to establish the running game and let Favre give the Patriots a taste of their own medicine ala Welker, which would be to get 10-15 yards here and there from Keller, Coles and Washington. I think we'll be alright in the rain, but it's going to be EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to safeguard the ball and eliminate the turnovers. Penalties too, which goes without saying. Belichick will be emphasizing "no mistakes" to his team and "don't beat yourself." We need to go into the game with the same mantra and not give the Patriots anything they can capitalize on.
weather I think if it turns into a running game the jets have an advantage. hopefully the run D will keep it up
C. its going to rain. Nobody knows how hard..but its going to rain. http://www.accuweather.com/news-story.asp?partner=1010wins&traveler=0&article=4 D. Exactly what time tomorrow would it be cool to start talking about it.
Yeah. Weather.com Hour By Hour shows 90% chance of rain between 8 and 10 PM, with the rain beginning sometime mid afternoon tomorrow. So this one'll be in the rain. http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/USMA0146?begHour=16&begDay=318
No sir you won't. You may have to pay her back with an ungodly amount of chic flicks as well. May God help you if the Jets lose or worse yet, forget to show up. She'll beat you over the head with that for eternity..
I think the key to the game will be stopping those short passes to Welker and Faulk. In bad weather, Cassell will probably pass to Welker even more.
Why would you take an uninterested girl friend to a game of this magnitude. Take some one who wants to be there. Buy dinner for her exboyfriend to take her for a snack. Take her brother to the game. Everyone will be happier in the long run.
Run D will need to be soild. Play good special teams. Be on top in the forced turnover battle. Crush cassel. Beat the pats.
Weather favours us http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/USMA0146?dayNum=1&from=36hr_topnav_undeclared weather.com says its raining all day tomorrow in foxboro. This means more run game which obviously favours us. GO JETS
I would say that we should be favored in the passing game too. Favre has a couple of bad weather games under his belt.
I have no idea who it favors or if it even favors anyone, the only thing I know is that I am getting nervous as shit for this game.
