im gonna go out on a limb and say that the 22 thing was a misprint. why would he say "he is wearing number 22 representing me"? that wouldn't make sense 22 doesnt represent law at all. also reebok or whoever makes the jerseys doesn't just let these guys change numbers. if you want to change your number and they actually produce your jersey you have to pay for all the jerseys they cant sell anymore. thats one of the reasons chad johnson isn't rocking ocho cinco on his back. he would have to pay for all the jerseys that say johnson.
I think the main reaction from most, besides his notorious shitty attitude, is can he still keep up with the WR in the NFL? He has been on the shelf since the beginning of the season, meaning even the worst teams in the NFL wouldn't take him. Wonder if this is just another Jets/Pats mind game?? If he were still could, wouldnt the Raiders, Chiefs, Lions, etc... be taking a shot at this guy? I realize he has a "relationship" with Mangini, but I'd hate to take a guy like this and have him be a liability on the field?
And of course, I understand this isn't Ty Law in his prime but he's still a crafty veteran who knows every trick in the book. As long as we didn't pay him too much, I just don't see why people are freaking out over this. I'd love someone to explain it to me.
Here's the only real positive I can get out of this... For all his character flaws, Ty Law is a savvy vet. Even past his prime, when opportunities come his way, he makes plays.... Even if he's toast up and down the field, that won't be much different from what we have as our #2 right now. And he's sure to convert some of the many chances he'll get with all the passes going his direction into TOs
Law > Lowery. Now Lowery can be our nickel CB. The secondary just got a big boost. I don't know why anyone would be upset with this signing.
remember the beautiful defensive chemistry we saw on the field yesterday.....a move like this could destroy that.
I'm shocked at how many people are against this move. If you get over your gut-reaction of "I hate Ty Law, he's old and he's an asshole!", you actually realize it makes a TON of sense. Our secondary is EASILY the weakest unit on our team. (And think about it for a minute, that is saying A LOT considering how dominant Revis has been) What is wrong with bringing in a savy vet (who was still very productive in his last season in Kansas City)?????
