Show some love for our Longest tenured Jet right now. 7 sacks on the season, poised for a career high 14. That would make this year his best ever in terms of pass rushing production. Lets thank him.

We need to talk about another player/position today.

Is that the highest sack total for a 3-4 DE?

I just checked the other teams. The only close guy is Sean Rogers with 5, but he is a NT.

Everyone else has 4 or less.

    Awesome.

    Pace: 4 sacks
    Thomas: 4 sacks
    Jenkins: 3 sacks
    Bowens: 4 sacks

    IMPRESSIVE!

    Props to Ellis.

He's yet another guy who's taken shit from fans, gets little love in return, and yet he always goes out and does whats asked of him. He's a captain, and has long been respected in the locker room.

This is looking to be a great season for him.

Its simply amazing what opportunities Jenkins has brought to this team. Everyone is flourishing because of his presence. Love it!

That is a product of Jenkins no doubt; but Ellis always plays with a high motor and busts his ass. Tough guy, good to have in the trenches and very underrated. I think we need to draft or sign a DE to put us over the top on the other side as Kenyon Coleman has been completely invisible out there all year long.

I was pretty disappointed in Ellis last year, I'm glad he is kicking some ass, we needed him to.

    He's always been a high-character guy.

Kenyon Coleman is vastly underrated. He is part of the reason our run defense is good, he isnt a sack machine

Really? I thought he was playing pretty well. He's not racking up sacks, but he's been pretty good against the run.

I would like to see us draft a 3-4 DE as we haven't done that yet and Ellis is getting up there in years, but I think Coleman has had a good season.

He's doing his job but he's surrounded by talent. It'd be nice if you saw him make a big play here or there like everyone else around him. I'm content with him and won't complain when the run D is 4th in the league, but at $4 mill a season make a play or two please.

Enlighten me......... I know he controls his gaps adequately. I know his position doesn't get much glory; forgive me for demanding more from him.

    Great insight Draftarebuttle

He's made a decent amount of stuffs at or behind the LOS if I remember correctly. I agree he could be upgraded but he's not a slouch by any means.

Good post. IIRC, the last time he had a season like this was when Abe was still a Jet.

Mangini's working on this theory that says you don't need a playmaking, game changing super star at every position.
