Well, there you have it - WR Stephen Hill, a former second round draft pick, has been released by the New York Jets. Hill, 23, was drafted by the Jets in 2012 and has been steadily declining after catching two touchdown passes in his first NFL game. While possessing an impressive combo of size and speed, Hill has been unable to become a consistent performer for the Gang Green. His short career with the Jets will be mostly remembered for poor route running and many dropped passes.
The Jets also waived rookie QB Tajh Boyd, RB Alex Green, TE Chris Pantale, DE Tevita Finau, DL Zach Thompson, RB Daryl Richardson, LB A.J. Edds, CB Johnny Patrick, OL Brent Qvale and S Rontez Miles.
Boyd was drafted in the 6th round of this year's draft and will most likely be back on the practice squad.
