PK Nick Folk reportedly did not like being franchised, as he was hoping to get a multiyear contract. His wishes came true today, as the New York Jets announced re-signing their placekicker to a 4-year contract.
Folk arguably had the best season of his career in 2013, converting 33 of 36 field goal attempts (91.7%). He hit his first 23 field goals last season, including 3 game-winners. He also hit all 3 attempts over 50 yards and kept his accuracy in tough conditions. Folk broke Jets' franchise records for most consecutive field goals from the start of a season (23) and most consecutive home field goals (20), and he recorded a career-high 30 kickoff touchbacks.
The details of Folk's contract will be posted as soon as they become available.
