Two days after naming the new GM and hiring Marty Mornhinweg to lead the offense, the Jets brought in former Bills QB coach David Lee to coach the Gang Green's quarterbacks. Lee was also a quarterbacks coach in Miami under recently fired Tony Sparano. The Jets are replacing Matt Cavanaugh, who has been with the team since 2009, the only QB coach QB Mark Sanchez had since being drafted. This is quite an interesting hire, considering that QB Tim Tebow is supposed to be on his way out and Lee is known as one of the pioneers of the Wildcat offense.
Lee oversaw Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick this past season who, despite struggles, finished the year with 24 TD and 16 INT along with 3,400 yards passing. He was dismissed by the Bills on December 31, 2012 along with the entire Buffalo's coaching staff.
Prior to joining the Bills, Lee was offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Mississippi.
