LB David Harris was named AFC Defensive Player of Week 9. Last Sunday he registered five tackles, one interception and one pass defensed in the Jets’ 27-11 win at Buffalo. Harris registered his second interception of the season and the fourth of his career when he picked off QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second quarter at the Jets’ 49-yard line. In his fifth season from Michigan, this is Harris’ second career Defensive Player of the Week Award. Harris previously won the award in 2009 (Week 1). He joins CB Antonio Cromartie (Week 2) and CB Darrelle Revis (Week 6) as the third Jet to win Defensive Player of the Week this season.
Meanwhile, WR Plaxico Burress (low back), S Brodney Pool (knee) and RB Joe McKnight were not dressed for practice today as the Jets began preparing for their Sunday Night game against the Patriots. TE Dustin Keller (head) and RB Shonn Greene (head) were in uniform for the padded practice. DE Mike DeVito (knee), NT Kenrick Ellis (ankle) and CB Isaiah Trufant (hamstring), who missed the last game, were practicing.
UPDATE: Pool is the only player questionable for Sunday's game. He had an MRI, which revealed a minor left knee sprain but no tear.
