The New York Jets made several roster moves this morning, as they brought back LB Aaron Maybin and placed OL Robert Turner, TE Jeff Cumberland on injured reserve, ending their seasons. The team also elevated TE Josh Baker from the practice squad to replace Cumberland.
The Gang Green are hoping that Maybin, who lead the team in sacks during preseason, will be able to bolster the pass-rush that failed to apply any pressure on Oakland's QB Jason Campbell. Maybin worked out with the Titans after the Jets cut him, but wasn't offered a contract.
TE Josh Baker is a versatile player who also played fullback during the preseason. He will allow the Jets to continue using multiple tight end sets with starter TE Dustin Keller and TE Matthew Mulligan. Baker joined the team this summer as an undrafted free agent out of Northwest Missouri State
