The New York Jets signed CB Donald Strickland to a 1-year deal. Strickland played for the Gang Green in 2009, registering 26 tackles (22 solo), 2 pass defenses, 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Last season Strickland played for the Chargers who released him 2 days ago. Strickland, however, is no more than just a role player. So, the Jets still need a starter at CB, which means that they will still try to re-sign CB Antonio Cromartie or trade for CB Asante Samuel of the Philadelphia Eagles.
It also now appears that WR Braylon Edwards will not return to the Gang Green. So, reportedly the Jets are going to make a big pitch trying to sign WR Plaxico Burress who was recently released from jail. Burress, as we all remember, was a Super Bowl hero with the Giants a few years ago. He then accidentally shot himself in the leg with an illegal handgun and spent last couple of years in prison.
