RB Leon Washington is expected to sign his 1-year tender on Thursday, the final day of the RFA signing period. Washington's tender is a 2nd rounder, which means he will make$1.759 million in the upcoming season. Washington has been skipping the Jets' voluntary workouts, hoping to attract other teams despite last year's season ending leg injury.
Meanwhile, according to the Star Ledger, Jets owner Woody Johnson, GM Mike Tannenbaum and head coach Rex Ryan made another push to land LB Jason Taylor. They called Taylor’s agent Gary Wichard for a four-way conference call Wednesday with the hope of getting Taylor to sign with the Gang Green. Taylor, who has spent the majority of his career with the Miami Dolphins, is expected to make a decision in the next week.
