The Gang Green have won their third game in a row, completely dominating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers en route to a 26-3 victory. The defense once again came up big for the Jets, as they held Tampa Bay to only 124 total yards and 6 first downs.
Despite that the Bucs' defense clearly came out determined to stop the Jets' running game, QB Kellen Clemens, who started in place of injured QB Mark Sanchez, struggled immensely for the most part of the game. In the first half Clemens missed wide open WR Jerricho Cotchery in the end zone and then failed to connect with wide open receivers on several occasions later in the game. The only positive for Clemens today is the fact that he did not commit any turnovers.
RB Thomas Jones finished the game one yard shy of the 100-yard mark. He had trouble moving the ball against Tampa Bay's 8-man fronts, but did break out on a 33-yard touchdown run. Jones also added another touchdown in the second half, following CB Darrelle Revis' interception return.
Revis once again played a good game, defending 4 passes and recording his career high 6th interception of the season.
The Jets improved to 7-6 and will face the Atlanta Falcons (6-7) next Sunday at the Meadowlands. This is a must win game, as the Gang Green have the last two games against Cincinnati (9-4) and Indianapolis (13-0).
