The New York Jets seem to be back on track, as they are leading the Raiders 24-0 at halftime. The Gang Green powerful rushing attack has already gained 145 yards on the ground, while the defense has generated 3 turnovers (2 interceptions and 1 fumble). The only negative is what seemed to be a season ending injury to RB Leon Washington who was carted off in the first quarter. Rookie RB Shonn Greene took over for Washington and gained 63 yards on 9 carries. Greene also scored his first NFL touchdown.
The absence of NT Kris Jenkins became noticeable early in the second quarter when Oakland had several long runs up the middle. LB Calvin Pace finally created some noise when he sacked Russell on the first play from scrimmage, also causing a fumble that was recovered by the Jets inside the Raiders' 5-yard line.
QB Mark Sanchez has been pretty average - 6 of 10 for 75 yards, but most importantly he hasn't made any mistakes and avoided the pressure.
