For the second week in a row QB Mark Sanchez is among the finalists for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week award. He won the award last week with his brilliant debut performance against the Houston Texans. This week the other finalists are CB Bruce Johnson of the New York Giants, WR Percy Harvin of the Minnesota Vikings, WR Johnny Knox of the Chicago Bears, and LB Brian Cushing of the Houston Texans.
Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/rookies beginning Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET and ending on Friday at noon ET to determine the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. The winner will be announced Friday evening on NFL.com/rookies.
Interesting fact: The New York Jets, who have defeated Houston (24-7) and New England (16-9) to start the season, are the first team since 2006 (Falcons, Ravens, Broncos) to not allow a rushing or passing touchdown in each of the first two games of a season.
