The New York Jets conducted another practice session this evening, which mostly consisted of different position drills and special team plays. QB Chad Pennington was back with the first team, throwing short and medium passes. WR Laveranues Coles was once again catching everything thrown in his direction.
The offensive line looked pretty good, giving plenty of time to throw the football. It seemed like the only player who could really trouble them was DT Kris Jenkins. Jenkins, who was acquired in the offseason, stood out even among his fellow defensive linemen. The guy is just HUGE. He was manhandling anyone he was put against in one-on-one drills. OL Will Montgomery was thrown to the ground like a rag doll.
QB Brett Ratliff completed two long passes to WR David Clowney and TE Bubba Franks. RB Thomas Jones and RB Leon Washington both had decent runs. It was also good to see OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson being able to hold off DE Shaun Ellis one on one. WR Chansi Stuckley also made a nice play when he beat CB Darrelle Revis. OG Alan Faneca was flagged for a false start and had to run a lap around the field.
P Joe Smith took plenty of reps kicking off. Will the Jets keep him as their kickoff man?
