Jets let Dinger go

Admin - January 25, 2006

The New York Jets finally decided to part ways with offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger who had recently expressed his displeasure with the fact that initially head coach Eric Magnini wanted to keep him on his staff.
Heimerdinger's next stop will most likely be Denver, as he and Denver's head coach Mike Shanahan were college roommates.
As for the Jets, it shouldn't take long until we learn the name of Heimerdinger's replacement. One of the potential candidates, Steve Fairchild, however, was just hired by the Bills.
At this time it is unclear what type of financial agreement was made to let Heimerdinger out of his deal.
