The New York Jets announced this morning the appointment of Jeremy Bates as the Club’s quarterbacks coach and the promotion of Pep Hamilton to wide receivers coach.
The 28-year old Bates joins the Jets after having served the past three seasons (2002-04) with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2004, he served as the assistant quarterbacks coach after joining the Club originally in 2002 as the offensive quality control coach.
The 30-year old Hamilton is entering his third season with the Jets and will work with the Jets’ receiving corps. He spent the 2004 season as the offensive assistant coach where he assisted in the coaching of the perimeter offensive players (WR, TE & RB). Hamilton originally joined the Jets’ coaching staff on February 20, 2003 as the offensive quality control coach.
